Big sister helped GB to a first win in the Olympics. Good start for them, and a good omen for us! http://sport.uk.msn.com/olympics-2012/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=250682744 Be nice if they won Gold!
Just from looking at the Title of this thread, I though that this was some name which Sone Aluko had previously or something! Oops Anyways, nice freekick in that game, and hopefully they do get Gold!
I watched the game, apart from being impressed from the fact that England had a Dieke at centre-back I do follow England Ladies. We will come up short as we do in the mens game, am never overly impressed with the manager Hope Powell, at the World Cup she made some horrid substitutions otherwise we could have beaten the eventual champs Japan. Will have to check out Hull City Ladies some time, apparently they were training at Longcroft in Beverley last night not far off from where I am.
A) Don't be such a miserable defeatist scrote. B) Germany are not even entering a team so your comment is a load of old bollox anyway. TWT if this is a FACT etc.
TWT means? Great Britain wont win it!!!! There is a difference between defeatism and realism. Substitute Germany for a number other countries who have more to their game than just the Murdoch League
other countries properly fund women's and other forms of the game. in england all we do, through the murdoch league, is pay cucumber pickers to come over here, fleece us for our sky subscriptons and put promising young english players on the scrap heap
That argument is nonsense though. If a young English player is good enough they will get just as much chance as a young foreign one. The problem is we don't have faith in our youngsters even when they are good enough, it's nothing to do with nationality or indeed Murdoch.
did you ever hear the song: "There's a hole in my bucket, dear Lisa...." The same irony that blows your argument out of the water. Think about it before you talk blox!
If there's anything that blows my argument out of the water let me know what it is. Though I suspect there isn't actually anything and in fact you're just on a ramble about the bloody Murdoch league again.
and why do you think the supply of good young english players has dropped off? cos there are too many average last pay-day cucumber pickers in the english game. it's chicken/egg scenario i am afraid. open your mind and think about cause and effect! end of discussion!!!!!
I'm not convinced the supply has dropped off, the media like to say that but I don't agree at all. The only thing I'd complain about in terms of youth development is that we let players get to 21/22 before they are considered old enough to be given a chance and until then they are just benched or loaned out whereas in other countries they go through the age groups and carry on progressing into first team rather than rotting in a reserve team for 2/3 years like our youngsters do. It's really not just because they're English though.
That's a different point though surely. A mate of mine was a cucumber picker while he looked for a job after dunstons laid him off. He doesn't have sky so I'm not sure how he's to blame
