Calm down Dev. Name calling isn't big and quite honestly it makes you look a lot worse than me. And to note, proving you wrong does not make me a bigot. I have provided you with exserts from a Celtic supporting author, who has penned many books on Celtic's history. This has been posted on a Celtic supporters page to try and shed some light on to the matter. Unfortunately for you and many others on here, it is the polar opposite from what you keep spouting. Now I don't know this author but I'm guessing, and it's just a guess, that before writing this book he had to do some extensive research. Talk to ex players, ex staff, supporters, a lot of people in the Celtic family. So who do you think I would listen to? An author who has obviously done his homework or you lot. Faceless people on the internet who, and quite rightly, don't want their club associated with Torbett and the scandal that occured. Problem being, it just doesn't add up. The fella said that a "semi-official" meeting took place where Torbett was thrown out of the club. If this wasn't Celtic's problem, why were they involved. If Stein and others knew what happened, why did they not go to the police? Why was Torbett allowed back to the club, where he was friendly with the owners, to run the club shop. You can't say that your greatest manager ever threw Torbett out based on a hunch (which no one queried) and that no one else was present at this "semi-offical" meeting can you? Think about it logically. Put a little bit of basis to your reasoning and please try to avoid making things up like Simon. As for you Simon, did I say that they confided in Celtic staff? No. I said that staff at Celtic were aware of what went on. But yet, if their parents, teachers, friends etc. didn't know, then you think the people at Celtic obviously didn't. That is a bit of a warped logic. Why was Torbett kicked out of Celtic Park by Stein if he had done nothing wrong?
you dont know that he was, you dont know if he was, why he was, and, in fact, your evidence is contradictory (something you have not, conveniently, addressed) and weak ps - thats how you answer questions im done schooling you
This dick was probably not even alive when the events occured, (1967-74) he's trying to make a case against people (Jock Stein and Celtic) based upon information he does not have, all for the sake of point scoring. Evidence which does not tie in with his pathetic conspiracy theory will be (and is) dismissed out of hand, even if it comes form the victims. **** him
Scriptinator is not a word let alone a "Proverb". Edge, Schooled in English Language by Dev, as per the Script
more lies from other papers at the time no doubt Former Celtic directors Mr Kevin Kelly, 61, and Mr James Farrell, 77, said they never heard of any allegations concerning the accused and Mr Kelly, a director in Torbett's Trophy Centre business, denied every talking to Mr Birt about the matter. Asked if Mr Stein had tried to cover-up any allegations Mr Farrell said: ''He would have been playing with dynamite if he had done that. Jock would never have behaved like that.'' In his evidence Torbett said he had started the club in 1966 with the good wishes of Celtic chairman Sir Robert Kelly. He denied being ''booted out'' by Mr Stein in 1974 and said he resigned because of a ''conflict of interests''. Outside court Mr Tony McGuinness, who resigned as chairman of the CBC recently said: ''My heart and sympathy goes out to the three men who had to re-live what happened to them all those years ago. ''I am very disappointed that the greatest Celt of all time, Jock Stein had to be dragged into this case unnecessarily.'' Alan Brazil has commented that Jock Stein was not involved. He did, however, criticise the Kellys. still waiting for you to answer my questions
And more to the point where was Torbett when the fake lunar landings were staged? That's right, Area 51.
Shocking that that Kevin kelly didn't admit to being told about Torbett. He must be telling the truth. So now why would this author and the chairman of the boys club feel the need to lie? I already have answered your question. I didn't say they confided in Celtic staff but that the staff were aware of what goes on, as people had testified in court (that actually happened unlike your made up story) Not sure if you are aware but the parents of child abuse victims don't often know what has went on until years after when the child has grown up and is much more confident to speak out. But you keep lobbing the excuses and i'll keep knocking them out of the park. P.S. You left this out of that article....
good article that just repeats what you had said already - oh except that it confirms that brazil didnt say anything to anyone at celtic at the time its interesting that your sources are valid and yet the ones that counter your allegations are lying? convenient that eh? so in conclusion: allegations of a cover up were made allegations were denied court brought no charges so innocent then yes? off ya pop
