If it's true that mh is still trying to sign another striker, then who would offer us the most. The rumour up in geordieland, is that Ba is unhappy since cisse joined. And there is only 6 days left with which to activate the £7 million release clause. He was the first name on my transfer list last year when he was free and although I'd be happy with either player, I think Back offers much more future potential than defoe, and is probably even the better all round play now as well....
Ha, why would he leave NUFC to join QPR? With all due respect, makes little sense. Ba is settled up north, and our understanding is the £7million clause applies to clubs in the Champions League only.
No disrespect from me either, Newcastle are obviously a bigger club by far. But players leave all the time and for many different reasons and not all of them make sense. Was just offering up two potential targets and who I'd prefer. Ba was stuck out on the wing when cisse arrived last year, and said to be very unhappy about that. Plus I've heard no ringing endorsements about him or any hands off warnings from St James's so how much do they want to keep him?
Queens, I too only want talk of defenders but all the rumours are of strikers and wingers at the moment. We can only hope that all this attacker talk is a smokescreen from tf and ab to hide out real activities on defensive targets.
If Ba's not happy with Cisse, he's certainly not going to come to us cause our Cisse will really piss him off. If we're getting another striker it's likely to be Defoe out of the 2, but more likely to be someone out of left field.
Oh and definitely ba at cb, although he does tend to drift out of position occasionly!! Definitely better in the air.....
Too obvious DT, gotta think outside the box a bit more. Nelson can play alongside cisse up top. Attack from the back and defend from the front, tactics as old as football itself!!
Certainly worked for a certain mr beckenbaur....best sweeper in the world.. remember him running up field creating plenty of attacks.....So could one size do that you reckon?
Can not see Ba leaving, so not really a realistic debate. Defoe on the other hand could be a reality and I would welcome him into our squad.
Too many other teams bigger than QPR want Ba so I don't see it happening. Maybe Second Chance Villas Boas will take a look at his squad on tour before deciding on the future of Defoe. I think he is a gem and would jump at the chance of him signing for us but it won't be cheap as he could certainly do a job for most other Prem teams. AVB will be a different prospect at Spuds than at the Scum, I expect he will be ruthless and we could benefit if he wants a clear out.
Ba..humbug. Not coming to us, playing for top 6 team at the moment only way he would move is upwards.
Not sure we can call Newcastle a top 6 team just yet. Yes they finished there last season but there is nothing to suggest they will be up there this year. Just like the 3 promoted teams this year, they're not premiership teams til they survive a season, in my mind...
I'd rather have Ba over Defoe, as he's a little bit younger. But the one I'd be really happy to get would be Luc Castagones (sp), as a young lad who can learn from Zanora and Cisse, and grow into the team over the next couple of years!
Expecting a bite from Ellers but Defoe has been our number 1 target since November. If anyone saw the clip when he was in the tunnel at loftus road.
CB sometimes you should take some of my posts with a 'pinch of salt'. I still have full respect for you as a QPR poster because i remember you from the old 606 days. When i say i am being serious i am. I asked you the other day if you thought Defoe was coming? (not as a bite/wum) Thoughts?
Jammers?? How does that make sense? Not a realistic debate? Didn't sir Alex ferguson categorically state that he didn't want park to leave? So what would make a player go from one of the biggest clubs in the world to little old qpr??!! Now Ba going from newcastle(who were in the championship a couple of years ago), to us doesn't seem quite so stupid an idea. Newcastle have had one good season, I repeat, one good season. They are not champions of the world!!!
