According to the Times today: "Benfica are in talks to sign Armand Traore, the left back who lost his starting place at Queens Park Rangers last season. QPR want about £1.4 million for the former Arsenal player, 22, who has also played for Juventus." I thought our defensive squad needed strengthening, not reducing. Like others on this board, I have admired Traore's speed and thought that, as a minimum, he might be worth a place at left midfield, even if he wasn't in the starting line up. Hopefully, MH has other targets to give us cover, not least at CB where, imo, we need a quality player who would be first choice above our existing CB's.
We should keep hold of Traore MH seems to be thinking about every position apart from defence were we are weakest

Hes 1st choice LB at the moment so it would be insane to dump him, I would have kept him even if we signed Taiwo. Our transfer strategy seems to be a bit mad, we are getting players where we already have too many and dumping players when we only have 1 of them in that position. What next, selling Ferdy and Hill?
I quite like Traore but I don't think he's the best defender. He's been really good in a few games when he's played in midfield and, to be fair, he's had a few good games in defence but he did make a few mistakes that costed us in other games. He has a delightful left footed cross that always seems to be quick and dangerous.
If they let him go then I will be furious as has the potential to become very very good.. for me hasn't let us down yet
He was the best of the Warnock preseason signings, and one of our best players last season IMO. Plus he's young and will only get better. It would be crazy to offload him, especially for such small change.
I reckon it's just paper talk. He was involved during the tour and MH is not stupid. I actually like him on the wing because he has loads of pace. Can play in 2 positions so he is a handy player to keep.
I cant see Hughes letting him go. Certainly not before we buy at least 2 more defenders. Maybe then it could happen.

MH seemed to be playing him further forward on the tour. He's being going to the same hair-dresser as Dribble.

Paper talk bollocks. The board and Hughes have stated we don't have to sell. And if it did turn out to be true then it will be because we are buying someone twice as good. I did see that Butnerr's deal to Southampton fell through, plus I can see us buying Fabio at the end of the deal. So who knows. But let's not get hyped up about anything until it's official.
