Quality keeper. Ranger's legend in the making imo.

I'm more comfortable with a keeper making gigantic but few howlers than the **** ones that constantly with poor judgement and errors resulting in us conceding a larger quanta.

It's unbelievable how quickly some of our so called fans are to jump on a players back for a mistake.

All people remember is that one dreadful mistake in the world cup, then see today's mistake and that's it, "he's ****". Just ask Amy west ham fan what they think of him before making judgement.

He's better than paddy kenny, yet he's reached legendary status. Yet I seem to remember most people non too impressed when we signed him. So learn from that and give the guy a chance Ffs.

Exactly, people that dont know about football will say the one who makes the howlers is a good goalie but its not true.

Remember Ikeme? I dont think he made a howler but he was bloody awful and didnt save anything.

Well said Flyer. I hope we dont see too many of what happened yesterday though. Glad it got out the way in a friendly and not in a competitive match.

All keepers make mistakes. At the end of the day we can only hope he lets in less goals than Paddy did, mistakes and all.

    This.

Lets not get on the back of our new keeper for ****ing up one cross in a preseason friendly.

I guarantee he will make errors this season and being a goalkeeper these errors will results in goals against us, we have made our bed now lets not make him even more error prone by the 'supporters' heaping even more pressure on.

He is a good keeper and England number 2, for how many positions can we make the same statement,

If every time he makes a mistake - he is called **** then lets be consistent and every time terrorbat gets caught in possession he is also ****, every time Cisse misses a chance he is ****, every time Faurlin mistimes a tackle he is ****, and every time Rob Hulse.... oh hang on he is actually ****.

He went up for a ball, got dazzled by the floodlights and didn't take the ball cleanly, dropped it and they scored.

Must say it was good of the opposition to turn the lights down for him in the second half.

I don't think anyone is getting on his back for one mistake, most people are commenting on his career as a whole and in that respect he's never been a top keeper. He's made a fantastic living by being a very average player in an era when there has been a very poor group of England goalkeepers. Technically he may be England's number 2 in the current squad but I believe the likes of Robinson, Carson, Foster and even Butland, Steele and Forster are better than him and they're just the English ones. Personally, given the wages we are now paying, I think there were much, much better options out there for us than Green.

However, none of that matters anymore, he's ours now and I'll be fully supporting him every time he plays.

Green is a good keeper, no worries from me. He'll serve us well.

Hi Northolt, As you know we used to have the best goalkeepers in England, IE. Phil Parks & David Seaman just to name two? So what has gone wrong, any idea? No good keeper about now in England or should we go overseas to Western Europe or something. I am at a loss in this matter. Why did the club buy Green? he was not that good at West Ham was he? they went down did they not? Regards James

Ive been impressed with the business that Mark Hughes has done so far with the exception of selling Paddy Kenny for Rob Green. I agree with Neil Warnock on this one in that Paddy is still a top keeper and he cant understand why we sold him for Rob Green. Nor can i if im honest. I never once saw Kenny made the school boy error that Green made in Indonesia and hope im proved wrong that we havent made a mistake in this respect. I was also against Gorkks being sold to Reading 2 seasons ago but the positives with the club far outweigh the negatives and really feel we could become the surprise package this season and finish in the top 8. I also predicted we would win the championship 2 seasons ago which ive never done before

    With this post.
I'm not against any player per se, have no wish to undermine anyone's confidence, but I'm not convinced by this keeper.
Is it a lack of concentration?
Good on him if he shines this year, but for me the jury is out.

Some have suggested he lost it in the floodlights, it was good of them to dim them after that and also that not many have big floodlights along the side of stands.

Theres not a lot you can do if you lose it in the lights or the sun, you just have to take an educated guess where you think it will be and hope for the best.

Yep, hope that was the case. We've got him, I don't imagine for one minute that he hasn't got talent. Lets hope he saves everything
against Man City, cos we need to make our mark there. We need to stand up and be counted there and if he plays his part, he'll be a bloody hero.
