Not bothered about Liverpool. As regards Pards, he's doing a great job for us and can say what he likes as far as I'm concerned.

I think he could have avoided saying anything TBH. Not a big thing but even specs wearing geniuses have off days.
In general though money does talk.

I don't understand what he has said that's so out of order. Anyone who follows Football knows that Liverpool will have to take a loss on Carroll. Pardew can say what he likes as long as he keeps winning ... or slags my mam off:emoticon-0101-sadsm

Did a journalist ask his opinion or did he just come out of the blue and say it? I am guessing it was the former, in which case I have no problem with it.

Both parties are probably in the wrong, but we were talking about Pards so why bring up what Liverpool have done, two wrongs dont make a right.

When harry done it with Ba he was our star man, scoring left right and centre, he also told the league about the release clause. With Carroll he's out of favour and Liverpool are actively looking to sell him (I think) so you cant compare these 2 situations IMO! If I were a Liverpool fan I wouldn't get wound up off comments made by Pardew.

Both wrong clearly, Pards and Liverpool. But then football is a mucky business.

I have to say though agreements when managers move are just pathetic. Part and parcel of football, get on with it.

I think the problem is not Pardew talking about Carroll, it's how he phrased it to sound like negotiations were ongoing.

Keep that stuff behind closed doors.

Rodgers said that he would be interested in Allen if he became available - you can cynically read that as unsettling the player, or as an attempt to be respectful to his agreement but compliment a player he clearly admires.

On the 'agreement' it allows for Liverpool (not Rodgers, the deal is about 'Liverpool' as a whole) to transfer Swansea players if Swansea decide the deal is beneficial to the club ie. if they want to sell or Allen wants to leave. That's why Rodgers' comments have been so bitterly received, as he seems to be engineering the transfer.

This is usually the case, interviews are edited, it often looks as though someone is raising an issue rather than responding to a question, that said though, Managers, with just a few exceptions, are pretty savvy when it comes to the media, so they pretty much know what they're doing.

Pards behaviour is less bad because he is commenting on a matter that is already the subject of general speculation as opposed to creating a subject for speculation. I would still have preferred Pards to have kept a bit more tight lipped.

I can't have that Pards is somehow not the devil the rest are, that would be black and white specs for me. Its poor form and if the shoe was on the other foot there'd be plenty moaning. Its poor on Pards part but to be fair they're all at it. Mancini is discussing RVP, Wenger discussing Cazorla, Ferguson discussing Moura.

Common place in the summer and do you think they worry about what fans think? Do you think they question their own integrity at night? No they rub their hands that they've engineered a great player onto their books. Its the ugly side of football but its not gonna be changing.
