Thanks AK. Day off today which I'm delighted about, less than a week until I leave my current job! From what I'm reading, lasts night performance sounded like a good one, always nice to keep a clean sheet and bag two good goals. Also, chuffed for Bond to keep that clean sheet when he has Almunia lurking about.
- What are you doing tomorrow? - Same thing as normal. - No you are not. We have a problem in ParnaÃba and you must go and sort it out. Company politics we need a person there. I found the town on the map and it looks hot. I have five flights and a long drive to get there. I like a lot of notice. Frú and Little Ak will be happy
hey all. Just a quick visit whilst on tea break at work. Its great to see the team coming together well at this stage and to see some good performances by individuals. I have been impressed by Daniel Pudil and Abdi. I hope you are all well, and i hope the car is running well now H.
Just back from Cork...great day out sampling the bars of Cork and a good turn-out from Watford. There was a couple of hundred there and some right old faces. Managed to bump into H at half time on the way back to the pub..did not get a chance for a long chat and ask how the car was Our play was not great and a lot of missed passes and poor first touch. Defence looked good and impressed with Bond - he looked very confident handling back passes and gave himself time to assess the best option and not just slice it out. Lloyd at centre back looked good as well! But I think it's going to be a difficult start to the season! Players came over and threw some shirts and a ball into the crowd - one mate got the ball and another a pair of white shorts with #4 on them. So good day out and I am please to say I have contributed to the Irish economic recovery...
So - the rumour that you were involved in some 'sectarian chanting/banter' with the Cork fans was baseless?
Look on the bright side - you may be able to have a beer with Brag. After all, how big can Brazil be?
Another beautiful day. Garden all set up for lunch. Just waiting for guests to arrive. They live in Colombia so should feel at home in the heat...
The population of this place is nearly 200.000 all of Ãsland is 320.000 and ParnaÃba is 500km from the nearest city. That is bigger Ãsland from west to east. I like my small country and I think this is too big. Also I worry about the temperature Akureyri is 11C now and yesterday ParnaÃba was 38C and 28C at night. I will leave soon to put my clothes in my suitcase.
Thanks for the Coffee Ak - So you're off to Parnaiba, leaves some room in your case to bring some real Brazillian Coffee back with you. Have a safe journey.
Not any sectarian chanting BB from me - but I did lead a chorus of "we pay your mortgages, we pay your mortgages" to which the response of "we're skint and we know we are, we're skint and we know we are" was very amusing...
Evening all, what a scorcher we have had today. This afternoon the temperature outside was nudging 40C. Forecast for tomorrow; a couple of degrees hotter. Spent the morning pruning off leaves from the vines to allow the sun to get at the grapes. It looks as if all the unusual amount of rain we had earlier will give us a bumper crop this year. This afternoon we went in search of a few bits and bobs as the air-con in the car is now back to full working order since I had it recharged. Around most of the big cities in France there has been a huge number of commercial centres built, most of them with the same shops. Although trees have been planted in the car parking areas they are still too small to create much shade. So you open the car doors and immediately the heat hits you as all of the forecourts just retain the rays from the sun. On route to Limoges we came across an accident on the autoroute, where one of the many camping cars on the move had managed to jump the armco and land on it's roof. Difficult to say if the people in it were just starting their holiday heading south, or had finished it and were going north as the van was roughly in an east-west line. Fortunately it didn't look as if anyone was badly injured and the traffic continued to flow either side of it with the security vans out with the big arrows to tell you to get over. Got home and had an hour of watering to do before I was allowed to approach a bottle of wine and some food. No chance of watching any of the ladies playing football. What is the matter with the people up in Scotland? Wrong flag. Reckon that the blue shirt brigade up there were making a protest.
Played for my work cricket team this evening in our weekend league game which we won. I've been a bit of a "golden arm" this year as I've bowled in 3 matches and taken a wicket in each match. Before the start of play we were third in our league.
