Gonna pose a different question, could Heskey POSSIBLY do a job in central midfield!?

His workrate is excellent, great in the air and a physical presence.

I agree that he's different to Jason Scotland, so if he was signed to play as a striker he would be the target man. Scotland appears to have a role mainly from the subs bench going by what Jewell has been saying.

Next question regarding Heskey, what kind of wages do people think he'd be on should he sign?

How much was he on at Aston Villa, £50,000 I'd guess ?

    £20,000 sound about right ?

Would be a poor buy in my opinion, his best days are well past now, and do not think he would be hungry enough. Would have thought Jewell would have learnt his lesson by now, in buying ageing players. No thanks.

He was aiming to come to us.

    But he missed.

    ARF!

Actually, it seems we were never in for him, it was just the papers linking him with a manager he'd worked with before, for no good reason.

We already have a 'Heskey' in Nathan Ellington. I don't see the point in having both. We already have two 'battering ram' style forwards with the duke and Scotland, I would rather see us go for someone with a bit of pace and guile than another old player trying to get his last decent deal.

I think people are going a little overboard on this Heskey transfer thing, he wouldn't be someone who I would ideally like to get in I would much prefer to see us get someone like Davies but I don't think it would be a disaster if we got Heskey, I'm pretty sure he would improve us but it would be more of a short term fix!! I'm not completely against short term fixes but I don't think we are in need of one upfront, I actually think we need an experienced CB or CM, someone with a bit of authority/presence!!

Watching that video, what a team Jewell put together there though, some great players for this division and relative unheard ofs at the time, I hope this is what he is starting to do here.

Wouldn't mind you taking Wickham back off us on loan for the season.

Don't know why you boy's were raving about him as much, hasn't showed us any signs yet that he is good enough for the premiership and has played enough to make a decision on him.

Might just need another year or 2 before he's ready, but I doubt it...
