A good bit of business holding off two bids and getting more cash for a player who obviously doesn't want to be here, lets be right hes an excellent player but if he wanted to stay he would have signed a new deal ages ago. Reinvest the money and trust in Colin.
Nothing concrete only rumours - Part ex plus cash from us for mackail smith, Huddersfield and Palace said to have bids on the table. *Edit* Sorry misread that as McCormack for some reason... Bit of a sudden change?...
Snoddy deal not done yet, but it looks as though it will be. Hell of a side Norwich - Bradders, Howson, now probably Snoddy. Let's hope they cough up serious dosh & Warnock gets to re-invest immediately.
Would love to know the official amount, rumours seem agreed on £2.75M - If you were a Norwich fan would you be pleased or would you feel you should be aiming a little higher? Sone Aluko was free, Templeton looks a very good player and I wouldn't complain if we replaced Snoddy with him.
I don't think his heart has been in it for us for a while now - and a new owner probably won't change how he feels. I say cash-in and (hopefully) let NW get someone pacier in.
Not happy about this, don't try to justify it with the old he's not pacey enough or if he wanted to stay he woulda signed a contract by now and all this. Its bad news from a leeds' fan perspective
P1ss-poor decision. If the club were ambitious they would keep him and push for promotion, even if it meant losing Snoddy on a free in 12 months. We are still a team that sells our best players and replaces them with cut-price or freebies.
Makes you wonder why we never, it worked with Beckford and it wasn't that long ago Warnock was talking of waiting till Christmas and the Jan transfer window to see where things stood.
Bottom line chaps - Snoddy's head had been turned more by NCFC & EPL football than LUFC, loyalty & the hope of promotion. Who can blame him? The ball is entirely in his court & he has a free decision to make - all by himself!
So within a few hours warnocks gone from not knowing whats happening to accepting a bid. It must have been fairly substantial
Strong rumours the bid was £2.5m but that may not be the true figure at all but I would guess it would not be too far off, perhaps £2.75m - £3m. I would also guess, if it goes through there will be add on clauses somewhere down the line.
If thats the case then in normal circumstances i would accept that. but not here where fees arent re-invested.
I accept that POV and you do have a considerable amount of empathy from a few of us Canaries. We have been there in the early 90's and we never fully recovered from it but by the end of next season (survive or relegated) we will have finally got the club out of debt and well run (financially).
Disappointing if he does go. He's not currently a Scotland regular. So playing in the PL must help to improve his chances. I know what happened with Beckford, but we really couldn't afford to hang around in L1 any longer. So keeping him to help us get out of the division made some sense. It would have been good to have kept him to try & help us go up this coming season. But recent history & the impending takeover doesn't guarantee that. So as seen from his perspective, if a side like Norwich want him, seems like a good move, especially as he'll be able to link up with Bradders & Howson again.
It reads like snoddy wants to go full stop, onwards and upwards then !!! http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120725/boss-confirms-snodgrass-in-exit-talks_2247585_2860392?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
