How the mighty have fallen! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18971248 **THIS IS NOT A "DIG AT QPR" THREAD (I THINK IT IS A SENSIBLE DECISION) AND THE OP HAS NO INTEREST IN QPR/QPR FANS' OPINIONS**
Haha! It does raise an interesting point though- should football clubs be allowed to do this? Barton gets to play out his twelve match ban at Fleetwood Town and so misses fewer QPR matches. Very smart. And a suitably humiliating punishment for the t0sser- I hope he comes back a little more contrite... But it is a little cheeky and you'd have thought Liverpool should have given this a try with Suarez!!
Seen this???? Unbelievable!!! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18971248 I think, if anything, the ban stays at 12 games until he returns to QPR, then start the countdown! Trust you Rob!
"The FA would consider any application to transfer the ban, but do have the power to reject it if they feel it as an abuse of the disciplinary process." So QPR have to apply to the FA, who imposed the ban, to invite them to reduce the severity of the sentence? The FA should lengthen the ban and fine QPR for even contemplating this wheeze.
Would like to see the FA say that they can transfer the ban but only if he plays for fletwood until say the January transfer window. Otherwise they should say he is banned from playing football untill QPR have played 12 games. Admittedly I would have had him banned for a time period, maybe 6 months, like cantona was and rugby players are not a set number of games.
QPR obsessed you lot He won't be named in our 25 anyway so he won't be eligible until Jan regardless. In effect it's a 6 month ban He'll get hacked to pieces in Div 2
Agree about lenghening the ban on barton, but to fine QPR would be very very harsh in my eyes. I think if the club could have sacked him for his antics, they would have done so by now. By letting him go down a few levels to Fleetwood, says o me that QPR wouldn't be too worried if he disappeared. When a player goes onto the pitch, I am of a mind tht he is responsible for his own actions, and the club should not have any extra fines handed to them. A mass brawl is a different case. Just my thoughts
It's more of a discussion about football. Note the thread about Portsmouth, Tour de France and 1p5wich.
I think he was joking because of my ps in the original point. It's interesting if QPR don't include him in their squad because it basically rules out any clever manipulation of the rules. He's being dealt with well here, what a prat re the Europe offers
If he's not named in the 25 man squad he isn't eligible to play in any matches. He can't be banned from a match he isn't eligible to play in so, if he's not named in the 25 man squad until January the 12 match ban would start in January. Of course I may be wrong...
Sorry wonk that irony whizzed over your bounce again Dazz he can serve his ban in any league controlled by the English FA so if he goes on loan to Fleetwood (even typing that sounds potty) he can be named in their squad ban expires October sometime and he gets match fit playing with them til Jan when he can return to us and be named in the 25 from jan or sign for Fleetwood permanantly!!! The way we're signing midfielders he'll be lucky to play for us again
As I suspected...I was wrong. I blame the Koppaberg and slightly undercook BBQ I've been consuming most of the night
