Lame To Fame Thread...

We've all had lame to fame experiences so why not share them?


Here are some of mine.


I once arranged house viewings for Kazenga Lua Lua and Simon King from the hairy Bikers.

I played a gig with Wheatus in Sunderland and also supported The Hoosiers in Newcastle.

I saw the actor who plays "Curly Watts" while on holiday in Goa last year.

I saw Martin Keown having breakfast next to me and our lass in a York hotel last year.

Our lass used to be related through marriage to Brian Ferry.

My mam went to school with Chris Waddle.

My mam and dad got knocked out of bed by Madness when they lived in London.

EDIT: I once saw Jimmy Nail in The Union Rooms in toon!

I hope you all enjoyed reading of my crap experiences with minor celebrities, can anyone else name-drop as badly as this?

 

I shock hands with Enda Kenny the year he became taoisach.

I shock hands with Steve Harper awhile back.

 

Not all of us...

 

Once saw Steve Harper at Kings Cross Train Station, getting a Burger King.
Once saw Peter Beardsley at successive home games on the way to the ground.
My dad was in the same class at school as Steve Stone's cousin.
Once saw Robert Lee at the cricket, another time saw Mark Davies one of the current players for Durham.
Saw Alan Hutton at Central Station last year the day we played Forest at home.

Met like the whole Coventry City team about 10 times
My mum went school with an FA Cup winner for Coventry

I have no claims to fame, once saw Shearer at the airport waiting for a taxi

 

1.)My mate used to live next door to boxing pundit and former Quayside star Glen McCrory.
2.)Another mate of mine was once told to 'f*(k Off' by former Australian fast bowler Merv Hughes.
3.)My Mams husband, my dad, went to the same school as Alan Price, the keyboard player from The Animals. Though they were in different years and were not friends at all.

 

I went to the same school as Courtney Lawes.
I met Graeme Swann out walking his dog.
I saw Chris Cusiter (Scottish rugby player) at British Open golf a couple of years ago.

They're the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

 

Oh, and I've met Shane Warne.

Oh another one is my mate met Aron Gunnarsson (Cov player) on a night out so got a picture and cause he had him as a friend on facebook as well as about 3000 others he tagged him. Then his best mates girlfriend commented saying he isnt hot at all and yes He responded to her saying Erm love lets face it you aint all that yourself!! hahaha

 

jason steele and ross turnbull live in the same place as me, ross turnbull lives two streets away had newcastle wallpaper in his room! also played football for 10 years with jason steeles brother, know them decently... he was our special guest at my clubs presentation hes good crack seen him a few times at my local five aside league as his dad plays there... also related to bryan atkinson who played in the fa cup final for sunderland! and danny Mellanby who played for darlo

 

Pardew spilled coffee on my dad at Newcastle airport a month or so ago. I wish I'd been there for that one.

I went to a loal pub for a quiz night and Les Battersby (from Coronation Street) was there. More importantly I was stook at traffic lights, when suddenly Colo rolled up next to me

 

Stadium of Light even.

 

Oh, right... I feel for you. Just a little bit mind, I work full time in S*nderland city (apparently) centre.
