i did a 57 minute walk today and walked 3.7 miles. Not my best time, but i was talking a lot with a friend lol.
Uh oh! i've just discovered the theme for the Moonwalk this year is Moulin Rouge. Should be a laugh! lol
lol okay, now i'm grateful it's Moulin Rouge! i'm back from the walk! ...thought i'd report in before the shower i so desperately need! lol. 19 miles today in 4 hours and 39 minutes . When i woke up this morning i just wanted to go back to sleep. After a huge curry last night (remind me not to do that on a thursday night in future! lol) i really wasn't in the mood for a walk. Still, off i set and got to the canal in record time. I was still feeling pretty crappy though, but made it to Uxbridge surprisingly! On the way back i was considering cutting off the big steep hill that i dreaded so much, but my competitive nature forbade me to, and i did it...glad now that i did, but i regretted it at the time! lol. My feet just kept moving today, and although it wasn't heaps quicker than before, i've shaved a few seconds off each mile. I seem to be having a good week followed by a bad week...i'm not half as achy today as i was last week (yet!) and next Friday (Good Friday) i have to work, but the schedule has me taking a week off..yay! i'm sure i won't not walk though, i'll just not be doing a long one. Anyway, shower time! Thanks so much for all the support I'm getting here, it's amazing, and really helping to keep me going! (But for you, i might have stayed in bed this morning ).
i'd love that Leonardo..i'd be happy with under 6 and a half, even by a minute! i need to get off to a good start though, bit worried about the crowds. i think i might let them know i'm faster than i originally thought i would be...hmm, yep, doing that now!
Well done Hornette, excellent time. If it's like the Lonodon Moonwalk, they will not let you change the group you leave in, so it's get the elbows out and fight your way through! Next time you go past West West London, give us a wave, my office overlooks the Canal there...
Thanks w-y...i'm a bit gutted now that i didn't think the time thing through, though i thought i'd never get my pace up, so was probably being realistic at the time. Ah well, i'll get my elbow pads on. i might try and find my way to nearer the front somehow, though i suspect they'll be just as organised in Edinburgh as London. i'm just dreading the hills lol. Apparently it finishes at the castle, and that's a 2 mile uphill climb at the end. Just as well i've got Batchworth Hill to help me prepare for that one! lol Norway - lol...thank you, and ha!
Hornette - Luckily London is very flat and our canalside training was perfect. If you do it next year, get into the London walk and put down the fastest time - with the training you have done you will breeze it. Right I am off out to the O2...
We only booked Edinburgh coz London was full, i'm doing hills too because i've a feeling Edinburgh isn't going to be very flat at all lol. Thanks w-y, will definitely get in earlier next year . Have fun!
Good luck Hornette! I will echo the advise about getting near the front as my ex-girlfriend took part in her first moonwalk a couple of years back and it took her 45 minutes to pretty much go no distance at all.
Thanks Si..and thanks for that too, that sounds horribly depressing! lol...i'm going to sharpen my elbows!
Well, it has to be said, since Friday i've done nothing! The shenanigans of the last 24 hours have put paid to any exercise plans! Tomorrow, back to the programme
