    Football is a business at the end of the day, they will concentrate on what pays the most money and that is the EPL placings and the champions league slots. The cups are at the bottom of the list of priorities. A decent cup run coupled with a crack at 4th or 5th is what I would like but given the choice it would be the league over a domestic trophy. The Europa League is a different kettle of fish though...... That will showcase the club to young talent improve the clubs pulling power.

    No chance as we saw with Fulham, Everton ans Stoke last season we will struggle to do as well this season as our squad isn't good enough.

    Listen Albert we did better because the likes of Everton, Fulham etc were hindered by the europa league and we had a miracle in the transfer market.

    I'm wrong at times but I'm most certainly correct about us not doing as well this season!!! it will not take long for the penny to drop with you.

    No doubt that is what is important to a club nowadays. Its a business and all about money. But the OP is asking the question of the fans, not the club owners. Most fans would want the club to have as rich a history as possible. How much money the club has is of no importance to the fans whatsoever. Even in terms of what players might come in is not really the point. We have money currently but choose not to follow the other clubs is spending wildly. The only way to really enrich the history which is all that will count to fans over the years is to win things.

    I know the romantic in us all want to see us lift a trophy but that joy would be short lived and would be wiped by a bad season in the EPL. Look at the Liverpool fans as an example of how a trophy cant truly rescue a bad season. I remember Liverpool last season more for humiliating defeats and poor transfers more than I do for winning the League cup.
