I'm fairly certain the AC arrives in the US today to meet up with the rest of the squad. I wonder what reception he'll receive? I really hope the lad stays as he gives us plenty of options and really started to find his feet in the LFC squad. I imagine the rest of the internationals will return today, cue shed loads of pictures on your Facebook and Twitter feed from LFC TV.
I reckon everything will be hunkey dorey. Rodgers has said Carroll is in the same position as every other player in the squad, whether that be Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez or Andre Wisdom. This Carroll talk is media hot air
oh yea for sure, doesn't change the underlying issue though, will Carroll fit in? Non of this "plan B" ****e, you don't go from playing pass and move to "oh we've not scored, quick plan B! let's hoof to Carroll!!"
I stand by what I said last year I'm afraid, AC is just not good enough! He cannot read a game and 97-98% of the time he is not in a decent position to receive the ball. So the guy had a good run in last season, but what about the majority of games whereby he did nothing? If we can get 15-20 mil, then grab and run!
I think he will fit in no problem, hardly would be Carroll's fault if the team start hoofing the ball up to Carroll, it doesn't work because that is not the kind of player he is! BR needs to tell the rest of the team that hoofing the ball up towards him IS NOT ok.
Carroll is at the age where he can be coached. He is also the sort of player who heeds advice. Look at the way he moves now; Movement wise, he is a much better player then he was when we signed him. If he can keep up with that then I can't see any reason why he cannot bang in the goals this season
I don't understand the argument I keep hearing that AC can't do this and can't do that, he's already improved areas of his game since arriving and at 22 has time to learn plus as you say he seems willing to learn. Sill hopeful he'll stay personally even if its just to terrorise Terry again
I don't understand why people think he can't pass and move (albeit, slowly). He brings others into play in every game he plays, he has had to find the space to receive the ball and he has had to pass the ball to a team mate to pull this off! He isn't as good as others at it but he can do it. And, as someone as pointed out, he is only 23 so time is on his side too.
At the age of 22 we would be daft to sell him, He may well turn into a very good player. I've said before he's not a million miles away from Danny Graham when it comes to stature so surley he could learn to fit in.
Can't we just get Baz to do a thread on him definitely signing for someone else then he'll stay for sure
Genius let's hope he tells us the fee is £6.50 with an extra £3.50 to be paid if he plays more than 3000 games for us
Isn't the idea that the opposite happens? Messi is going cost us a fortune going by these predictions
Article on Carroll Interesting article. Plus a very interesting debate on the accuracy of the data and also Carroll's value to a side. [note - Spearing surprised me]
Think the sun has gone to my head Let's just get him to do the Mandy thread and cross the Messi bridge once the important stuff is out of the way
