Pretty sure Rangers would have some claim in court though, its the same as when one bank buys another bank, they gain the employee's pretty sure the employee's still have to give the notice that is in their contracts, so surely the footballers must have to honour their contracts.
Aluko's contract expired on June 30th, he wasn't obliged to sign another one, even if they hadn't gone pop.
I am not sure how it works, but these players had a contract with the old club, which is bankrupt. Normally they would be made redundant, so their contracts are broken. I am not sure in this case, and maybe there are clauses in their contracts which cover these sort of things, but up here the feeling is that they are free to go on a free transfer.
I agree with that, just meant in general regard all the other players who people claim owe no loyalty to the new company. I know what you are saying John, and you are far closer to the situation, and Rangers have basically accepted everything thrown at them with grace, i don't think they get enough credit for that. However they have not being made redundant, the company was bought, therefore everything that company had including employees was transfered over.
I just read a BBC Q & A on the Rangers players situation and it is very complicated. See this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18569993 Further more see article that says he signed a contract to the end of the last season with an option to extend for a further 2 years, I guess it will be at who's option, his or the club. Sone Aluko has completed his move to Rangers, signing an initial deal until the end of the season. The Nigerian winger completed a medical with the Ibrox club on Thursday and will go straight into the squad for Sunday's match with Kilmarnock. Aluko agreed terms on a move to the Scottish Premier League champions on Tuesday and negotiated an option which could see Rangers retain him for a further two seasons. The deal threatened to fall through because his former club, Aberdeen, claimed they were entitled to training compensation for developing the player under SPL rules for three of the four seasons he was at Pittodrie. Talks between the Dons, Rangers and Aluko's representatives on Wednesday saw an agreement struck over a payment, freeing up the 22-year-old to move to Glasgow under freedom of contract. In a statement, Aberdeen confirmed they had reached an agreement which will see them receive "training compensation, potential contingent payments and a sell on clause." Aluko left Aberdeen in the summer, having turned down a new deal. He had been without a club since, training with Sheffield United for a spell, before agreeing to return to the SPL.[/B]
I am not denying it about Aluko, like i said in my post, his contract clearly expired..... I meant every other Rangers player who was still under contract
I think it will finally come down to either lawyers, or FIFA making a judgement. But you are right it seems that Aluko is out of contract at the end of last season, unless he decided to extend, which is highly unlikely taking what has gone on into consideration. Anyhow what a great signing he will be, and according to the Daily Star today he has already signed.
Sky Sports understands Fleetwood Town are lining up a shock loan move for Joey Barton until January. He'll train this week with them
I wish them luck with ^^^^ this. ++++++++++++ as for Aluko..... Glasgow Rangers have no hold or say over Aluko from 1st July. FIFA have more or less said Rangers dont have a hold over any of the players who have walked away either. Charles Green is dead in the water as far as taking action is concerned.
Hope Fleetwood know what they're letting themselves in for! Some drop though for Barton, last season he was playing in the premier league, now he could be in League 2.
Yes in order to afford piennar apparently, though surely they could still have gotten more! As for Barton he's just training with fleetwood to keep fit, which suggests he's not patched things up with qpr to say the least!
