I would fully support any player leaving Leeds for a crack at the Premiership. I just want some honesty from the players we have all supported.
I suspect he is waiting to see what happens in terms of a takeover. I'd want to see how things were likely to unfold before making a decision either way.
He already has been honest - he's waiting to see what happens before making the right decision for him and his family.
Disagree, Aluko while he looks like he'll do fantastic in the championship is still unproven in this league and Gradel was missing a lot from his game despite having a good season and I still claim it was just a good season, doubt he woulda been able to match it the following one (thats not to say that I didn't want him to stay ofcourse) Snoddy has been voted as our best player since being relegated from the prem. Admittedly thats debatable but he is certainly up there and no one can disagree with that. Replaceable? maybe but it'd cost and we just wouldn't spend that much money on one player. There is one thing about him though, while I don't question whether he wants to leave or not he shouldn't be a captain. I don't think he displays and captain characteristics and a captain needs to be fully committed to the club, whether he wants to go to the prem and better himself is fine but he shouldn't be captain if he is seriously considering it. He already doesn't command the team and doesn't hold a strong presence like even Naylor did as captain.
Like I said we all have our own opinion and we could debate it on and on for hours but what would be the point, we are not going to change our opinion because someone else disagrees
I think if he is being honest in his statement re ambition for the club and doing the right thing for his family, it becomes a no brainier, he must sign a new contract. No one can suggest the club is not showing ambition. Soon, Warnock will have signed a new team, improving virtually every position on last years team, with all players getting two or three year contracts. Arab takeover round the corner. So that's the ambition thing done. Next he's said he has to do what's best for his family. Well Rob, you've been offered the best wage at Leeds so no problem there. So sign the ****ing contract Rob and get down to playing the football this season we know you're capable of. You owe us, the Leeds faithful
He owes us nothing, he's been our best player and already stayed a year longer than he ever needed to. A move would guarantee him a season's PL football, put him in the shop window for even bigger clubs and all but guarantee a Scotland spot. Far from a no-brainer.
