He's a decent, if limited, player. Statistically his short passing is quite impressive (just looked at a comparison between Lucas, Allen, Carrick, Song and Arteta).
I thought he was good at tottenham and the scum made a good buy, but alas he has been nothing but useless for them and England.
I think you'll find he's a very underrated player is Mr. Carrick. He was instrumental to Man U's success last season.
He started last season as fourth choice for United. Who is your fourth choice? do you even have one? Thats the difference between title contenders and mid table make weights, strength in depth. United can put out the strongest 11 and still have players like Carrick, Young and Hernandez on the bench.

Hernandez was tired after playing through the off season and not having a break for two years, still did far better than 35 mil Andy Carroll, Young is a million times better than that **** you call a winger and Scholes played alongside Carrick so how could he be his replacement? I can understand your ignorance, must have been too painful to look up at what's going on in the title race. Fergie has been bumming up his existing players a lot to cover the fact he won't be buying replacements. Again.
Replacements? We aren't like Liverpool desperate to shift on championship quality players and buy a few more, or Arsenal having all their decent players poached. Those "existing players" would be the team that finished second on GD even after having by far the worst injury record all season, right? We have strengthened our weakest area though, with Kagawa, and the window is not closed yet.
