First of all i Want to make it clear that he did a great job for our club, for me i would have no problem in welcoming him back to us in the future, the Liverpool job is a fantastic oppourtunity and one that IMO was too difficult to turn down.
The problem for me has been his willingness to openly talk about our players when he previously stated he doesnt like to talk about other clubs players!
He is starting to tarnish his reputation with swans fans who were very understanding when he left, unlike bobby broen shoes rodgers acted with alot more class when he left, the non signing of our players for a year was a masterstroke in smoothing things over with our club.
However, since he left he has see ed to backtrack on all the good work and given off an air of"**** you" to the deal Made and the good feeling he had when he left.

Openly welcoming siggy by basically saying Liverpool want him ifnhe doesnt go to swansea was a little underhanded, no player would chose us over them and he knew that!

The joe allen situation has blotter his copy book further, stating he is in the market for our players is something he didnt need to say, his talking at media interviews is something he is very good at and he knows how to spin a story by not actually saying the exact words.

Do you Think he is being very calculating by using the media to unsettle our targets and players?
The deal Made to not sign anyone seems very hollow right now, and i Think its quite disrespectful to the likes of huw jenkins, how basically took him off the scrap heap and gave him a chance to progress his career.

Rodgers has gone down in my estimation lately, how Long before he surfaces for our other stars?

Liverpool fans have noted very early on how much he likes to talk,by doing so he is strengthening the hand of other clubs like Newcastle and fulham, especially when it comes time to do deals over carrol and dempsey, when he talked down here the full media army was hardly ever around,at Liverpool they always Are!

Is the guy showing his lack of experience or is he being told to set his charm offensive to stun?

One thing is for sure,he Will certainly be given enough rope to hang himself in the media, this Will start to piss off the liverpool fans big time if he talks themtalk without walking the walk !

Some Will say he has nothing to do with our club now,but thats not true. Success Will mean him raping our squad NeXT year, especially if he gets allen and it works out well. Failiure Will mean many here wear proven right about the impact he Made with our players.

Laudrup seems to be a man of few words, the two of them Are like day and night! When ML speaks people Will want to listen, when rodgers speaks its something we have already here him say,too much talking can da age the content of your wisdom!!

Liverpool Are one of the biggest teams in the world, they Will want to see action rather than words, i Think he needs to button his mouth a bit more and concentrate on Liverpool ,not trying to be a smart arse and unsettle targets via his press conferences, he is not being clever he is being obvious and blowing his reputation with swans fans.

Im drifting from wishing him and Liverpool well, to wanting them to fail..to much talking is the reason for it !

    Thoughts ?

He does use the media to get around the clause, so he is showing little integrity in my view - in fact it stinks!

I tend to agree rod, one thing he is good at is holding media conferences, i never saw him unsettle playes this way when he was small time at swansea,it seems now that he is at a big club he is using the media as a blunt tool of destruction towards the swans.

In 2 months he has gone from wanting to inspire the city to wanting to **** it over and indirectly unsettle our players via media soundbites.
All is fair in love and war but then why bother pretending to be something that your not?

I like Liverpool and its posters on here, they Are a fair minded bunch, i Get the feeling that they have worked out early on that this guy likes to bull****, if it dont go smooth for him There in the first few months it could Get nasty, saying they might not make Champions league for a few years was another example of saying too much ! Sometimes its best to say nothing or at least deflect!

Have you notice it's the same thing all the time. Looking forward to his after match interviews, he will use all the same cliches he did with us.

I do think as mentioned he's unsettling player via the press. He did it with Siggy and it backfired big time and I for one laughed my head off when Siggy signed for Spurs. Now he seam on unsettling young Joe. Now I wouldn't blame Joe for going to Liverpool, it would be very easy for him to have his head turned by such a club with all it's history etc. But for Rodgers to go on about in the press gets on my nerves.

I don't want him to fail at Liverpool, only because I do appreciate what he did for our club, but if he carries on the way he's going then I might just change my mind.

Funny how Laudrup is a man of little words, totally different personality to Rodgers. Roll on the new season!!

Thing is never, he has taken alot of good Wilfrom swans fans, and to some on the outside it may seem as if we Are becoming bitter, but we Are not! Just getting a fed up of being bladed in the back by him RE joe and siggy.

If he went for joe NeXT season There would be no problem at all, Even now most accept that it would be a fantastic chance for young joey boy but the indirect nature of the whole thing makes me want rodgers to fail in landing him !

It begs the question that NeXT season he might well go for many other swans players, its been pro en that his scouting and knowledge of players is small so maybe he wants to spread the raping over a couple of seasons not just one!

Hope he fails with this, a good season for Liverpool could well mean they hunt for 2-3 of ours NeXT year, which would make him a total **** in most jacks eyes <ok>

He's nearly constantly in interviews right now because:

    1) He's just signed for a club with a massive fanbase.
    2) We're on a headline tour of the USA, with our American owners pumping the brand.
    3) We seem to be completely revamping our media relations, unsurprisingly after last season. We have a new director of communications and we seen keen on 'brand Liverpool' - the official site has much more content, talks with players, videos etc.

He hasn't been that disrespectful to be honest. I can think of much worse things said by managers.

No offence but if we have a good season we won't want any of your players, think about it, we'd be shopping from a higher shelf that we haven't been able to reach for a few years.

With respect rev you aint looking at this from our point of view, would you not agree thats it bad form to mention other players like joe when he said he doesnt like to talk about other teams players?

He can box clever if he so wishes, if Asked he doesnt have to say no comment just refer the journo to the contract Liverpool have ( which he confirmed) with swansea over not signing of our players, it really is that simple! If pushed he can then repeat that he doesnt like to talk about other teams players! end of,NeXT question!

This isnt happeneing though,he is overly expanding on his answers to indirectly tap up and unsettle joe and dempsey.

You never see moyes and many others talk about others like brenden has done, and he signed a ****ing contract not to do buisness over them !

It's a fact of life I think... Managers are constantly asked about other players. He hasn't said things that are terribly disrespectful, although I can see the annoyance.

I don't think there was a contract signed, more likely a gentleman's agreement. Also, we can bid if another bid is made, the player is interested etc. So maybe that is the case.

If he is too obviously non committal the press will just say something like 'Rodger's tight lipped on linking up with Swans star -signing imminent?'.

Moyes was covering the Euros and showering lots of players with praise, saying he'd love them at Everton etc. Of course that's like a gay man calling your girl beautiful - it's okay because he'll never get any. Different scenario but a season or two back, do you remember Fergie and Fat Sam attacking Benitez over 'hand gestures' against Blackburn? Or Fergie earlier this year saying Liverpool should sell Suarez... THAT is disrespect in front of the cameras.

The press feed off quotes, if they have nothing to work with its harder to join the dots. I agree that it may not be a written contract but Even so he is contridicting himself with his gentlmans agreement dont you Think?

Can the real brenden rodgers please stand up!

    This.

He's rapidly becoming a piece of work since he moved to Liverpool, first by slandering Sigurdsson after he joined Spurs by calling him a mercenary based on fictitious tales of us offering double the wages Liverpool were (although, based on the simple mathematics of it all and a story in the South Wales Post, that means Liverpool were offering lower wages than Swansea and Hoffenheim were), now he's actively trying to unsettle Joe Allen despite the agreement in his severance package.

He's pretty much going all out to ruin what he achieved with Swansea by foul means, which stinks to high heaven.

Rogers is not a Jack. He is for himself and self alone. He came as an employee, he was given virtually unlimited support by the crowd and the club. Appreciate and acknowledge his performance as an employee, but to think that he harbors any vestige of good will towards our club is delusional. He has been quoted as saying that he wants Allen at Liverpool, and that if there was a market for our players he would be in that market, meanwhile he forments the very market he needs to obtain what he wants? This is not a man we should trust. This is a man seeking to obtain something that would leave our club at a deficit (cash is not an alternative unless it can be immediately repurposed into a equal or better replacement) and is forcing us to acquire players we might not otherwise be acquiring as means of mitigating that risk. Any move for Allen will come in the last week of August when we would have limited time to respond.

All BR has to do is shut the **** up ... But he either chooses not to which is deliberate or is incapable which implies some personality flaw. Take your pick. The net result is negative to us either way.

Our best outcome is BR scews it up and is gone by Christmas. This doesn't mean I wish him or Liverpool harm, but that I want what's in our best interest. And if it comes down to a vote of him versus us ..... I vote us.

I'll trust Rodger's to know more about the finances of the deal than you do, if it's all the same.
