No, it's a pointless organisation set up using tax payers money. Another junket for fat ****s to lazy to do a proper job, like rooting out the real reasons for racism in society.
It's not pointless though is it? It's shining a spotlight down Ibrox way so it's my tax money well spent.
If Rangers and Celtic had moved to the premier league then sectarianism wouldn't be a problem, or as big a problem, IMO.
What will it achieve Dev? That Rangers fans will ultimately need to stop singing sectarian songs. Will that stop people being bigoted in real life? No is the answer you're looking for. More waste of YOUR money on a pointless excercise to make someone feel important for doing **** all.
Maybe Celtic will be next for their attention? Would Gers fans be complaining about them then? Probably, but let's wait and see who exactly sent these reports in to UEFA before rushing to judgement and making knee jerk statements like Bain has done.
If it was Celtic, I still wouldn't change my opinion. The powers that be in Europe have wasted taxpayers money for 50 years since the Socialism experiment. Let the people spend their own money. Low tax = healthy economies. They take your tax and waste it like ****. IT'S YOUR MONEY - NOT THEIRS!!
My tax money is wasted on many organisations throughout Europe and abroad no doubt, perhaps when the money is used to fund something that is a complete waste of time my opinion will change, probably, but personally I don't see how anti racism organisations can be a bad thing. It's not as if FARE have not been involved in highlighting racism elsewhere.
My gripe is high taxation being wasted on stupid organisations. Anyway, like I said previously, football is the scapegoat here. ****ers will be ****ers regardless. Stop singing **** songs, but the same dicks will still be bigots in the real world. Pointless waste of money.
I agree that football is not the cause of racism or sectarianism or the only sport where it's an issue but FARE was set up specifically to deal with "Sport", therefore they are taking action in the arena in which they were established to.
I didn't say it was morally acceptable. I argued that one was sectarian and the other was not. If you want a moral argument, I can make one for that too.<ok
I don't usually like to get involved in these little sectarian handbag duels, but doesn't FARE stand for Football Against Racism in Europe? Since when was there a Catholic race?
Rangers sing racist songs to JJS. The organisation was established to counteract discrimination. A large and vocal number of the Rangers support sing songs that are racist and sectarian.
