Retributaion for Gosden after his very short loss today and that will come in the form of Great Heavens one and only bet of the day tomorrow (have got her in an e/w double with Nathaniel too, did have a win double too but thats out the window ) am putting my winnings today on her so 15.20 Curragh- Great Heavens - 15/8 (NAP) A progressing filly that has been handled like a dream by her trainer, carefuly progressing through the grades with each race and just leaving a road of destruction in her way, lto winning the Lancashire oaks by a whopping 5L she has beaten some top horses, and although this is a step up with the english oaks winner,2nd, and the ribbsdale winner , she has taken every challenge thrown to her in her stride literally just decimating the competition. She has more importantaly won her maiden race on Heavy Ground and also won the lancashire oaks on soft, so she should be at home on the forecast conditions. The stable has been on form and with the buick/goseden combination added to the fact the other top 2 in the market are completly unproven on tomorrows going, I am expecting another demolition of this very short field.
Truthfully I cannot believe Princess Highway is not odds on and I tihink at 2/1 she rates the NAP. Ground did not look as heavy as expected at the Curragh today.
9/4 with Betfred toppy! As i said in my preview at the top, she is unproven on the going and have checked hte forecast over there and it is meant to rain more tonight! which GH wont mind!
I think all Great Heaven backers will want that! Had it been the going at ascot as it was at the curragh the Nathaniel would have done the 1st leg of the Lady Rothschild double
It will be an interesting race. We'll find out whether Princess Highway really does confirm the form with WAS, and whether Great Heavens has improved past them all!
It will be a very good race, unfortunately Iwont be watching it, will record it tho. Am going to hickestead tomorrow (as I do twice a year every year)Friend of mine is riding so going to watch them.
Enjoy Wooley. A lot is made of the term/title "Good Horseman" but I must admit I was very impressed with Robbie Power finishing third in the mixed show jumping cross country event the other evening at Hickstead. He was competing against the 3 day fella's etc and showed what a real rider he is.
LADY GIBRALTAR - (Ascot, 15:25) 9/1 Won from mark of 71 on AW at Lingfield in December and bit of improvement when scoring more convincingly from same rating on turf there last time. A repeat of that form should see her thereabouts. JACK DEXTER - (Ascot, 17:05) 14/1 Runner-up on debut and winner of his next 2 starts, notably an 11-runner Chester handicap in May. Kept on well dropped to this trip last time and still open to improvement. Respected. TAAJUB - (Ascot, 17:05) 16/1 Built on AW successes when second over 5f at Epsom in April and another good run in the 'Dash' on Derby day. Seemed unsuited by the return to 6f last time and this should see him in better light. JOB DONE!!
As you all know I am huge fan of WAS and will back her again after winning a fortune on her in the oaks ! Horse ows me nothing but I think princess highway is improving every run and will be hard to beat
I'm not betting in the race but Was has surely earned the right to be treated with a little more respect than she is being in the Irish Oaks. As impressive as the front two in the market have been on one occasion each this season i'm not sure they should be 7/4 and Was 7/2. Actually looking closely at this race I am backing Was at 7/2.
Hello lads. Haven't stuck one up for ages but am keen on Possible tomorrow in the 4.30 at The Curragh. Largely progressive filly who reminds a bit of Bewtiched, also trained by Charles O'Brien for the Magniers. She is still well treated imo and is improving.I think she could ultimately be better than a handicapper. I have a few worries about the ground.Although she is a Pivotal I think really deep ground won't suit, does it really suit any sprinter? Despite this she could well be better than these and Frank Berry is an excellent booking. 4/1 is decent value and I will cover that e/w to recover stakes if the ground fails to improve..the old bet to nothing. GL all.
Good luck with those playing in the Irish Oaks...wouldn't touch that race with a barge pole. Fillies improving at different rates on heavy ground with so little reliable collateral form to work with...so easy to lump on wide margin visually impressive winners. 8/11 Adam Scott to win the Open...any takers?...or the 13/8 for GMac or the great one to catch him... Thoughts?
Roll up, roll up nail your colours to the mast. It's time to stand up and be counted. Princess Highway in the Oaks for me.
