    OP, as soon as I read your username I used every ounce of my strength to resist going internet-hardman apeshit over the place.

    Whilst I believe in freedom of speech, lack of faith in an Ameobi is unforgivable.

    Unfortunately I am dining on the planet Kashyyyk, which has a nice cafe, though the food can be a bit Chewy...

    You'll struggle to find a professional footballer who wouldn't put playing at the pinnacle of the game in World Cups etc above playing for their club. Its the way it should be to be fair. Never understood why Owen was criticised for this. Beckham did it, Shearer did, Bryan Robson, Gazza. I could name loads. It tends to the ones who deliver too because they actually give a **** about representing their country.

    We'll never stop moaning about Owen but the reality is he was exactly what we bought and we didn't like it. So we smear his name to vent our frustration. You know when you buy Owen at any stage in his career that he was not going to tear about after lost causes etc. Always been very selfish and just likes to the guy at the end of a move. He was very good at it but is basically only any good when things are going well. Moaning about that after you've bought him just seems stupid to me. Add in that we bought him when he had been proven to be extremely injury prone, we got we bought. The anger needs directed at Fat Fred.

    Personally I have no problem with Owen. He was just a bad buy. He didn't even want to come here!! Yet we pressed on anyway and offered him so much money that no sane man could turn it down. He was professional whilst here but performed average.

    i thought nobby solano looked completely out of his depth when we first signed him after his first half a dozen games. turned out to be quality.

    I think he taught all fans a valuable lesson in patience. For season, maybe season and a half, he just got bullied and looked weak as piss. But gradually he started to contribute and then looked top class. I always give foreigners (particularly ones coming from a different climate and style) 18 months now.
