Mclaren looked good in the dry so i'm hoping they opted for a drier setup than the Ferrari and Red Bull. If Hamilton can get some luck at the start and gain a few places you never know what can happen but it looks like another long battle for both him and Jenson through the grid.
Tell you what, Pic was the driver that most impressed me this quali. Missed out on the majority of his dry running in FP3, and still outqualified Glock. Of course it's going to go largely unnoticed because Marussia sucks.
That's absolute ****. Perez is seriously hated by the FIA.. He gets penalties for pitting and now this? He didnt get through and the drivers he "blocked" did. Webber and Massa both must get penalties too because they were blocking others. Maldonado gets warnings for taking people out day in day out and anything Perez does is punished.. Does Maldonado pay Bernie or something?
My predictions after seeing body language of drivers... It will be against Alonso and Vettel for the win. Schumacher and Hulkenberg will go backwards. Maldonado could get on the podium! McLarens don't look that confident on dry pace but they should get past Schumacher and Hulk and maybe challenge Pastor for the podium. Webber will make places. Kimi will also be making places but not as well as Webber.
I'm only going by their body language so you will have to forgive me if I just don't believe them. They looked neither happy or upset with the whole situation so I expect them to make places and maybe the podium, but I don't think the win is possible with their body language.
They blocked drivers in their own team, who obvs will not refer this to the stewards. Perez blocked a collection of drivers in other teams, it's a good learning curve to keep his eyes open in future.
I have a feeling Hamilton will come through the field like Kimi did in Bahrain. From 38 seconds:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/18940467 I'm worried.
If they have good straight line speed, and a good overall package (if the updates have worked), there is no reason why he cannot.
That's a good thing though isn't it? It's worked with Fernando being ignored at the start of the season and he is leading the WDC!
Suppose so, and remember Valencia. He started 11th and wth good pace and a bit of luck he won so it can happen tommorow for Mclaren.
As well as underestimating McLaren, I think you're overestimating the persistent power of one moment's body language. They're unlikely to carry the same feelings of disappointment from the moment just after quali right through the rest of the weekend. That said, it would be one hell of a win if one them did it; but people were saying Lewis would lose out to Alonso and Vettel in Canada but he won through; so here's hoping. Well, Pastor would be a result too but will he finish?
I still think hamilton will win, because whenever it's a sky only race, hamilton does well, BBC races he doesn't do so well (it's spooky).
