Still no outward movement of the remaining 8 senior players. Non-playing staff have been told they face redundancy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18931177 I hate to say this, but I think if our beloved Pompey FC was a family pet the vet would have done 'the kindest thing' by now. How much longer can this be allowed to continue with the club and supporters in limbo? Right through this debacle I've been firmly in the camp of 'where there's life there's hope' as opposed to the liquidate and reform in non-league as AFC Portsmouth brigade. It pains me to say it, but I think the longer this goes on the more likely the latter is as a possibility. Can any-one see some light at the end of the tunnel?
Someone should message Clarke Carlisle on Twitter linking him that article and asking him if it's right that ordinary people will lose their jobs because of the football creditor's rule while the players are guaranteed all they are owed?
Still no outward movement of the remaining 8 senior players. I bet all the clubs are waiting for the inevitable liquidation and then they'll swoop like vultures and get freebie players.

That is the light at the end of the tunnel. No matter what, there will always be football in Pompey. FYI the new club can be formed under the name Portsmouth FC. It's the company name that must be different, although I like Dinamo Portsmouth.
I think we should go for something the same, as the old names, like Corinthian Casuals, surely one of the best names for a football club. Old Portmuthians for example.
My nephew pronounces portsmouth as "portsmush". He's only 2. Portsmush FC, has a certain ring to it and is fairly accurate.
Does no-one else think it's very contrary that Birch has come out with this threat just days after appointing a new coach and a director of recruitment?
Gillingham fan in peace Didn't know it got that bad for you boys, live nearish Fratton been to 2 games (in disguise!!) hope you pull out of it!!
Very strange isn't it 3rd eye ? Is Trevor playing a dangerous game here I wonder ? Doesn't look good for us though, does it ?!
The thing is Wooperts, an experienced Administrator doesn't sign new contracts and appoint new staff knowing that he will be liquidating the business in the next week or so. I can't help thinking that he is trying to embarrass the players to take small % compromise agreements over a 4 year period, and calling on the fans to apply pressure. The players themselves have been extremely professional and have said nothing, which is more than can be said for Birch, and Appleton (with his comment about Guy Whittingham being left behind to wipe their noses). Only Greg Halford has said anything so far, which was that he was surprised that TB had made such little effort to be in touch with other clubs and move the players on. The players themselves are trying to find alternative clubs but Greg Halford doesn't have an agent and said he is willing to do a deal himself with any clubs interested. Others have pointed out that Birch's offer must seem very unattractive. He admitted he is offering partial compensation to be paid over 4 years - but the parachute payments will be paid over the next 2 years so why would they agree to 4 years? How can they be sure that Pompey won't go into admin again. He is asking for a charitable gesture from the players in order for a fat-cat idiot (who lends £ms to a mirage) to take over and recoup his money, at their expense. I think he is playing a dangerous game. Who will blink first?
It's the same with transfers I think, we find out a long time after most deals are done. Birch gives us little tidbits and we decipher, read between the lines, or put two and two together and come up with -10.
SOS Pompey have put a call out to fans to go to the Eastleigh training ground to hand an "open letter of understanding" to the players. Apparently it won't be asking them to leave the club, but in a round-about-way it will be asking them to leave the club.
Instead of demanding; albeit; nominal fees for the unwanted players on our books, if we want to offload them, surely just give them a free transfer ? Other clubs merely wish to pick them up "on the cheap" anyway, so let them. At least then we would hopefully remove them from our payroll a bit quicker. NB. In the case of Tal Ben Haim, currently on £35,000 per week - goodness knows how we will ever shift him at all, unless he moves abroad, or is realistic about his future weekly wage.
