BBC gossip column suggests he may be heading back to France after failing to make a first team place at Arsenal. It's prbably garbage, but if he does want to leave, do you think he maybe a good signing for us?

He scores plenty with feet and head, could play as a lone striker with HBA/Gervinho behind him, and probably be fairly cheap (5-10 million) as Arsenal got him on a free. He wouldn't demand huge wages, and would fit into the squad well. He is established in the Prem, has shown he can score, and is still fairly young (only 27).

    Thoughts?

I like him though he hasn't found his feet in the Prem yet, as you say good in the air and with his feet, was quality in France. I think he just needs time to settle. He'd probably want to go to a club playing in Europe though. Not sure what he's on at Arsenal, he went on a free so maybe getting paid slightly more than we can afford.

I would take him, i wouldnt judge a player to fast just because hes not getting on the arsenal team.

Wouldn't want to take a risk on signing him, however a loan deal could benefit all parties. Have a future fee agreed so that if he does well we can sign him up.

Take him on loan until January, with a view to extending it for the rest of the season or to sign him for £10m. <ok>

I agree, a loan deal would be brilliant! We can sign another striker and get him on loan. sorted :).

I really don't have a clue. He was brilliant in France, looked like he was doing well in the Premier League for a while but seemed to lose his way. I can think of plenty of other strikers I would rather bring in with the money he would cost.

I guess I would take him on loan, provided we signed someone better permanently.

Think he's a player who needs to feel wanted and play week in week out which maybe why he's gone off the boil since RVP came back into the team and his games have been limited. Loan possibly but if we could get him at a reasonable price I'd have a punt on him.

I don't think you can say he has gone of the boil since RVP has come back, seeing as he hasn't played.

This. I wouldn't mind at the right price and at the right wages. Doubt we'll get him though, if he goes to another club I'll think he'll go back to France.

Wouldn't mind loaning him, he started off pretty decent, probably do well after getting a run in the team. I'd rather him than Bendtner

When he has played he hasn't really got on, he's had a few sub appearances.

    Using wikipedia as my source..

This season he has played 25, scored 7 and got 4 assists.
Last season for Bordeaux, he played 38, scored 10 and got 1 assist.

Hardly the most prolific, wouldn't want to pay too much for him. But like I said in an earlier post, rather have him than Bendtner.

^ Agree on that. Although I could see him working with his French partner Ben Arfa :) in a 4231/4411.

Wud be a great signing. He 10 times the player of any of our strikers and if Joey puts them in the box he is great in the air and I think cud bang in 20 a season cos he wud be number 1 - at Arsenal he is in and out

Think he will be on high wages at Arsenal and maybe mor than we can afford, don't think Arsenal will sell - he is a great option to have for them and that wud leave them with Bendtner as ther 2nd choice striker
