Normally Celtic are linked to loads of players during the summer transfer window, however, it's been pretty low key, Do you think, as there is no Rangers, the Celtic board won't sanction any transfers until, say, it looks like Celtic will have Champions League group stages to look forward to? Or will it be a case of freebies only?
If we make the Champs League (and there is less than 50% chance of that, given we will not be huge favourites in both qualifiers) then I think we'll make one or two signings decent. I think it's pretty obvious we need a few more defenders with Cha and Glenda on the move so I'd be surprised if Lennon hasn't been keeping an eye out.
Think Celtic will end up in Europe League this season... they'll get through the 1st qualifer but I have my doubst about the play off - tho, I think Celtci are seeded for that one. A CB is a must, a LB would be good, and a Striker.
I think we will sign 1 or 2. But will wait til we see what euro competition we are in (if any) before we know what quality of player we'll bring in. There is no point signing someone for the sake of it. They've got to be better than what we have. I'd rather put a kid on the bench than sign someone to sit there
Those cheap gems future sell on fee was judged on performances against Rangers and Europe and since you will not have either, you will be signing the best off League 2 in England and might sell them onto the Championship. Once you fail in the CL Hooper an deven Sammy the Tranny will want out! Just cos there will be no games aginst the mighty Rangers!
fair point, as there is no rangers for 4 years would also like too see Celtic bring through the kids. Hopefully we can adopt the Ajax policy.
I can see us signing a max. of two players IF we qualify for the CL group stage. Even then, I think it's dependent on a player being sold with Ki the most likely candidate.
If we are in the CL a CB will be signed if we miss out don't sign anyone and bring through players from the development squad.
