I sparingly mentioned this on the 'I fear players leaving' thread but then thought about it for some reason and put this... If RVP was a serious option, would many fans be up for it though...? Arsenal reportedly want between £25m and £30m for him but he is 29 and in the last year of his contract, add the £150k+ wages into the equation and over the course of three or four year he would cost us between £48.4m and £61.2m (based on £150k per week) with very little resale value. Of course, my optimism of making the top four would vastly increase but then, there are his injury problems to consider too.
Van Persie, how ever great he is, has had a poor injury record until the last 18 months. But once he got a good run of fitness he turned incredible. I would be concerned that his fitness could slide again, but I'd take the gamble as long as we had sufficient back up.
Well that exactly the problem isn't it? We'd be blowing our whole budget on him so wouldn't have that back-up
Carroll would be sold to help pay the massive bill. I rate Van Persie but I wouldn't sign him for the same reason I wouldn't sign Dempsey, his age
sell carroll pay RVP 500k per week, thats the only way to make it work. I am hoping utd blow thier mush on him and then he breaks down injured as per the other 5 seasons in the past 6 years. it'd be hilarious... RVP needs success now, this year so he will only go where a CL run to the final is virtually assured. ie city with 200k wages per week min.... I'd say juve are a bunch of chancers
Let me get this straight....Juventus have now been linked to Evra and Suarez...something tells me the journo's are full of ****.
funny LoL can't wait to see that... anyone on here remember thurams view of certain italian clubs and fans?
