lol. swans will prob sell allen for 15m and buy a replacement for 2m. if he goes, we will have done quite well out of brendan/liverpool. and we'll still have a better manager/team.

I tell you what.....If we can get £15 million for joe and joe wants to go then we would be silly not to do it. We can use the £15 million to buy 3 quality players from abroad where they seem to be cheaper without dipping into our own money...everyone is a winner esspecialy us...

22 million for Rodgers & Allen , somebody wake me up because this is to good to be true . Throw in 30 million payed for Carroll & it's not hard to see why Liverpool haven't won a single season in the Premier !

yes your right cracker....loads of money.....I still hope brendan does well at liverpool though. I cant see him breaking into the top 6 yet but he should get into the top 10 which nobody at liverpool should complain about if he does in his first season....

But Liverpool finished 8th last season so if he can't make an improvement on that he will probably be sacked immediately.

You'll be wrong there imo , do you honestly think that Liverpool will accept any where lower than 5/6th

    We'll finish 5th/6th no problem.

Squad wise there is 5 teams ahead us currently so 6th would be fair enough.

Squeaky bum time rapidly approaching for Rodgers. If early results go against him the Liverpool fans and the media will round on him big time. Being a former "big club" with the aspiration and potential to become one again, Rodgers will not get the easy ride he enjoyed at Swansea.

We were grateful for any success we got at this level and most of his bloopers were excused because of that. Liverpool will not be so forgiving. Drop off the pace early doors and the pressure will mount which will lead to nervy performances and rumblings behind the scenes. It all depends on how the Liverpool squad adapt to his methods. Without doubt they are a talented bunch and should cope. But there is a world of difference between "should" and will. At least they have bought a gem in Borini who will (not should) help their cause but it is not going to be easy for them. We were well used to playing the continental style, Liverpool far more British conventional.

It is going to be very interesting indeed to watch developments....

Oh, and I think that Rodgers has upped his interest in Allen because he's taken a look at what he's got and realises that he needs more. Allen would bring familiarity with his methods and help get them across to the rest. Fine with that. If he wants him that's ok with me so long as we get a minimum £15 million for him. In this case it is very much a seller's market.

Its his first season as a big club manager so i cant see him doing better than kenny did. Kenny was sacked because you could see he could not improve as he had plenty of time, Brendan will be given time to build his own team as you cant expect him to change things around in a few months....the owners will be over the moon with a top ten finish and if they are not then they dont know what they are doing and want brendan to work miricles which wont happen in the time he has had......

Sorry Dai but I don't believe Liverpool's owners will be "over the moon with a top ten finish" - well not if it's 8th, 9th or 10th. 1st or 2nd, yes, :)

You lot are kidding yourself. Acting like it is great news that your best players are leaving. We have seen lots of newly promoted teams have a great first season, only to struggle the season after. Caulker and Gylfi have gone to Spurs and potentially Allen to Liverpool. You have a new manager who is untested in the Premiership.

Sure you may have taken £7m from us, but in premier league terms that is tuppence. Any player you bring in from abroad may take time to adjust. Based on the lodgic that three or four of your best players have left along with the manager, it would be a real surprise to see you finish 11th again. Just a bit of a reality check as some of you seem to have your head in the clouds.

Nobody is expecting miracles, a gradual improvement will be a start. As fans we are very patient. 70% of the fans never wanted Rafa to leave. No-one wanted Hodgson in the first place and we were prepared to give Kenny more time, despite a poor 8th place finish.

Rodgers will get time, the expectation is about as low as it has ever been at the club. Not a bad time to become manager.

We'll keep our head in the clouds and feet on the ground then. By rights we don't have facilities or resources to even be in premier league. But we ARE and finished 11th last year with a squad that cost about 11million pound. We punched well above our weight considering all the money being spent around us. We are under no illusions of where we are and what we expect to achieve. We are a club that operates in zero debt unlike practically every other team
in the league. There is no pressure on us to do anything and we will fight to stay in the league. If we get relegated we will still be solvent, regroup and try again.

Best players leaving ? What best players ? Caulker wasn't ours to leave <doh> and the same for siggy! If Allen leaves to you , the simple fact is you pay our valuation, we hold his contract for another 3 years, he is a young lad who has a huge career in front of him.

We took money from you and that has paid for other players to come in for us, we are a small club who is doing well, we are not a large club who perpetual failures who are dreaming of past glories. You paid £35m for a player who has massively failed for you, if you get £15m for him I'll be surprised, so a £20m loss <doh>

We don't need a bloody reality check thanks very much, all we got do is look here

Next time you come here with your head up your arse try getting the basic facts straight!

It does not matter who owned Siggy or Caulker, the fact is they helped you achieve 11th, next year they will not be there so you will be significantly weaker. Your better players have left. Some of your fans are suggesting that you will finish top 6, I am not sure if this is just banter or fuzzy thinking.

Premier survival would be my main target, and even that may prove to be very difficult indeed.

To be honest you're both right just coming from different sides.

You have a lot of potential but £7M isn't much money, £12M or so for Allen isn't much money... Factor in agent costs, wages, sign on fees and so on for players going out and your new signings. Michu signed on the cheap - he's nearly guaranteed a large signing bonus, then.

Wouldn't say we're dreaming of past glories, either. Go on the Liverpool board, we all think we'll finish around 6th.

Believe me, I want Swansea to do well, certainly would rather have them in this fine league than kick and rush teams like Blackburn, Stoke etc.

Also, it doesn't really matter that Caulker wasn't yours, or Sig. Fact is, they were important and next season you won't have them. Look at what happened to Bolton last season without loanee Daniel Sturridge.

It is just the attitude of the fans that puzzles me.

    "Allen is going"

Swans fan: "oh great that is a good bit of money, we can buy some cheap foreigners and finish 5th"

You talk like a bunch of accountants, most fans would be absolutely gutted if there best player, a local lad was leaving the club. Strange bunch. Must be a Welsh thing?

You need to get your head out of the clouds, or it will be a long and uncomfortable season ahead.
