I have no issue with him wanting to leave, it is the way he has done it by releasing that statement he has effectively cut his price to half of what we could have expected. If he wanted to leave he should have let us sell him for the best possible price then released his statement. His desperation to move has really knackered our choices. The other issue are non starters loyalty is bull**** excuse if we had got a good bid for him during the injury years the club would have sold him. His temperament issue bar on game against Southampton were a non issue and the rape charge was ****e. The only reason we see loyalty is because he is a good player same reason why the club kept offering him new contracts it would be a wasted investment otherwise. Carlos vela Is leaving the club after 5-6 years why is hhis loyalty not being questioned. What about all the youth players who get released after 9-10 years with the club why is the club showing them no loyalty. Oh wait it's because they are not good enough. It's funny how loyalty is directly proportional to ability for fans and clubs. Football is a business for club, a career for players and staff albeit a potentially passionate one. Or are you telling me you wouldn't move companies in your field of workfor more money or a promotion. No matter how frustrating it is I don't blame any player for leaving for money or silverware i would do the same in my job. My issue is they way he did it.

I remember reading an article in an edition of The Gooner from Autumn 2010.The author of the article was arguing that RVP was an injury prone waste of space and it was about time we ****ed him off
We have lost Hleb, Flamini, Toure, Gallas, Nasri (lets be honest, he was a very good player for us), Eduardo, Eboue and now we look to be losing van Persie. If we had kept most of these players at the club, we could have an unbelievably good squad. I shall go through you list one by one Hleb,Mr Inconsistency,who really misses him. Flamini,A player ridiculed by most fans until his last season.He was never a regular starter and was never going to to be offered a new contract until that final season Toure,That was a mistake to let him go Gallas.According to the media he was offered a new contract but refused.He then hawked his arse around Europe looking for a club.He susposedly signed for the Spuds for a worse deal offered by us Nasri,Whatever you may think my view is he only played consistently well for us for half a season Eduardo,He never recovered mentally from his terrible injury #
