Apparently William Hill have cuts the odds of RVP signing for the Old Lady from 8/1 to 2/1

What a way to sign off on your Arsenal career, after so many painful and frustrating years, where everyone stuck by you.

I think I have lost a lot of respect for Robin van Persie.

If he does go to city, I predict he'll flop as a player even if they do win the league but he wont care, he's just after silverware.

Then why did he do so poorly at the euros? He was surrounded by great players, VDV etc.

The reasons for Robin van Persie's poor performances at the EURO's are very obvious. As they have been for many years.

He plays in a system that works to benefit the Dutch golden boys, Arjen Robben and Wesley Sneijder. Robin van Persie's talent is nullified to help those two, to benefit their ego's. This has been abundantly clear for many years.

I think generally RVPs excellent movement off the ball is less effective at the international level where defences are better technically. There is no doubt that RVP dined out this year, on the fact that many PL defences were terrible, even ones that have been much better in the past like Chelsea, Spurs and Man Utd.

There were 1,053 goals in the Premier League this season, seven short of the record number in a 20‑team season, set in 1999-2000.

That's really not relevant. That whole team was one big giant flop it has nothing to do with talent just too many ego maniacs in one place.(besides in general he has performed well for the Netherlands)

I think he'd be a huge success at City or United. (injury's permitting)

Actually I think they have a pretty good 'team spirit'. You dont win the EPL without unity.

Fabregas,Nasri,Clichy and now RVP have susposedly left AFC because of our susposed lack of ambition.People blame the board, the manager etc but perhaps we should look to the likes of RVP who have been playing for us during our barren years.Maybe these players should be taking just a little bit of responsibility. You can talk all you want about the number of goals RVP has scored for us or that he's our whatever highest scorer. The fact is we've had one full season out of RVP in the eight years he's been with us.He talks of lack of ambition but that wasn't a factor when he was lying on a treatment table when he signed a contract in 2009.Arsenal fans have pilloried Nasri for the last year but at least he showed some dignity before he left us.If it is true RVP has refused to travel to the far east then his behaviour is a ****ing disgrace.I keep hearing the same thing about letting our best players leave but who are these "best player" who have left ? Clichy ? Isn't this the useless **** who cost us the league in 2008. Nasri ? Isn't this the same player who had 1/2 a good season in his time at Arsenal?.Fabregas ? We always knew we only had him on loan and that one day he would return to Barca. If there is an acrimonious relationship developing between RVP and us fans it's because of his behaviour and not because of the fans

    ****ing right <ok>

Arsenal stood by RVP when he was deemed a loose cannon, a temperamental young man with a nasty streak that could have finished his career before it had started. We stood by him when he was accused of rape, we stood by him and paid his wages when he was on the treatment table. If RVP wants to return the club to it's 'glory days' then he's got a ****ing strange of going about it by wanting to leave. He talks about the club not showing ambition, but we have just signed two top strikers to support him up front.

It's my strong opinion that RVP has only given us one good season, and he owes the club, the manager and the fans, who have stuck by him a lot more than this. I think we should keep him and make him honour the contract he signed with us. Let him **** off to go and win bought trophies with the Mancs next season when he's nearly washed up.

    Ungrateful **** <grr>

If he still has a year left on the contract, isn't a bid akin to 'unsettling' the player especially as we haven't put him on the market?

But even if these clubs have put in bids, what has he done? It's only assumption to say he has 'refused' to go on tour. Look at the abuse he is getting on Twitter, these people are basing it on newspaper stories. That sort of thing doesn't help does it?

The board should simply come out and say that RVP is not for sale. Then old bacon face can be done for tapping up.

RVP was quick enough to go on his website giving his reasons why he wont sign a new contract.Personally I think he owes AFC big time for all the reasons other people have given. If it's not true about him refusing to travel to the far east. Why hasn't he come out and denied it.?
