Made me laugh actually, as Florist said their appointment was going to be iconic?!! Iconic, really??!! Money says Coppell will take managers job now..
Coppell is the obvious choice! They sack Cotterill only to replace him with his assistant! Venkys mark 2!
not sure how true it is but there are reports that the new forest owners have brought in a load of kuwaiti trialists and want them signed up. not sure but i think you could be right warky - venky's mark II. also, forest have absolutely no defenders on their books!
I would have understood this if they had sacked Cotterill for someone like (dare I say) Keane or Nigel Clough but to replace him with his assistant is just bizarre! It just goes to prove how much they know about football if they think that SOD is a Forest icon! Before his short stint there he was at Donny and Bournemouth so how is that an iconic Forest manager! Nothing surprises me in football anymore!
lol talking of supposed icon apparently im watching John walk play at Fakenham on Sunday as one of Disco Dales legends
they were talking, genuinely i believe, about appointing diego maradona the other day. well, it would have made a statement i suppose... i think o'driscoll is the better manager though! in fact, i think its a rather good appointment - always been a fan of the way his teams play, but surely he's a dead man walking. if he does well he'll be replaced by a 'name' so it is a strange one.
To be fair Michael Owen did prefer playing with Heskey to other strikers, and its not unusual to see a side pandering to their best player's (at the time) wishes. And Le Tissier was unlucky in the time he was playing his best football coincided with the time when Andy Cole, Robbie Fowler, Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham were all on fire. And he was seemingly less dedicated to fitness and working hard than the others, so its not that surprising he was overlooked really.
thinking of taking my boots might be younger than some of the players...............then again maybe not lol, bet I look younger though
Frickin' love it! Another old high earner on their books for limited results would be fantastic. I've always loved his effort and determination. But he has lost his pace with age, he seems to not want to shoot, and he seems to just disappear in games. I'm not going as far as some of you and say its a dead loss, as this is a division lower and I think he would get a few goals. It's just the matter of wages being worth the contribution...which I cant see happening.
true, but its just another case of raw, natural talent being ignored over power and physicality. any other nation would have built their team around someone like le tissier - not us though!
