Not only that he has done it by buying players that we all turned our noses up at, such as Kenny, Derry, Hill and Mackie. He has turned Helguson into a goal scoring threat and improved Faurlin to the point where he can tackle and generally win headers. I'll hold my hands up and admit that I didn't want him and wasn't happy when he was appointed manager, how many more of you will?

He's like Harry Rednapp in many respects, players want to play for him and get his respect. A by product of that is that they improve themselves. What has surprised me the most is the type of football we have been playing under him. Just shows you what he could of done with decent backers at Palace or Sheff Utd

Not me. I was delighted when Neil Warnock was appointed... his track record was impressive given what he had had to play with and, after umpteen puppets to Briatore's ridiculous Championship manager pretentions, it was clear Rangers were finally on the up. There was no way a passionate, self-confident gaffer like God was going to play yes-man to anyone.

I have no idea whether Sir Neil can cut it upstairs. No one does, least of all the man himself. He's had a taste, thought he'd done just enough on meagre resources to stay up but hadn't reckoned on Tevez's ability to salvage the 'ammers. He needs another go before he's done.

Personally, I see the Manager's and the club's ambitions as being identical: an all or nothing push towards greater glory. Whilst he does my head in doing stuff like sticking Hurricane Hulse and PA on when better options are available, I'm not Warnock, we're still top of this league and I for one am with him till the end of the story.

Brixton, I'm very pleased you were right. I was more than concerned on the style of football, but from what I've seen, we've entertained as much as anyone in this division - when we get it right. Not typical old style Warnock at all. I hope the club give him all the support and time he need s next season.

I wasn't happy at first. Not because I thought he wouldn't get us into the playoffs, but because I thought we would be playing hoofball. How wrong was I?! He's been amazing, incredible, fantastic, super, brilliant and excellent.

So QPRers, what's your thoughts on next season?

Warnocks been up there before with Sheff Utd and struggled, obviously though QPR are in a different financial position than Sheff U, so do you think you'll be spending big-ish and consolodate a place in the league, or will you struggle to stay up and ultimately get relegated?

    Good luck anyhoo <ok>

It wasn't about being right... I was so desperate to see the Rs finally get some decent results. I didn't give a monkeys about style at a time when we were heading for the wrong league!

As it happens, my son's a Palace fan (the kids today... !). He understood their hopeless financial position but nonetheless mortified when Warnock felt the need to move on to a better club!

I reckon they'll spend clever again - with another round of surprises. This time they'll be more confident given Warnock's ability to work with prospects and turn pig's ears into silk purses.

Yeah, very impressive. BUT why the past tense on 'trust'?

(My comment does irritate me though. Reminds me of my stint as sign-writer a fews years back. You'd be freezing your balls off up on a scaffold concentraing on keeping your brush strokes fluid around the curves, and some knobhead at the bus stop would would break your flow: 'oi mate! you've spelt that wrong... hur hur!).

There is no doubt that NW has established a balance that none of his recent predecessors have managed. We had our usual early winter wobble but came back strong after that indicating a team spirit that simply did not exist before. And he re-shaped one of the worst defences in the league to be the best within a few short months.

While the style of football has been nowhere near as pragmatic as many of us feared I do not agree that we have been watching one of the great QPR sides in terms of entertainment. There have been some moments of course and Taarabt and Faurlin have demonstrated some great individual skill but overall its been about the most effective tactics for the division rather than putting on the ritz. I'll take that trade off for now of course but I would hope that in the longer term we will regain our rep for stylish football that was established in the 70's and 80's.

we've been crying out for a manager like that especially when flavio took over, good man management skills & players love him & playing with smile on there faces simple tactics he comes out with & it works, warnocks god.

Some of our football has been excellent. Usually when we are 2 up and at home, but still excellent. When the front 4 are all buzzing around, the interplay and movement is first class (or have I been watching too much rubbish over the years?).

Makes you wonder what he could have done, if he'd taken over in November rather than Harry? Although obviously never on the cards.

We should unearth more old threads from time to time. Amazing how many came out of the closet to rubbish the man within weeks of the start of last season. I still recall with some anger how he was rubbished by most on here when compared to Mark Hughes. Also , fascinating how the footy played under Warnock in our promotion season has been suddenly downgraded to mediocre and boring. Yeah right. We gave that up for the ability to pass the ball sideways for several minutes before giving it away. Then we spent big money bringing in Granero to do exactly the same. Wow. What an advance in footballing style that was.
