Derry on the bench? I dont think so he sweats blood for us particular on the road and why should he not be in our starting 11. And for jamie Mackie this is his season please MH dont put him on the bench either.

Come on Dave, don't let your heart rule your head mate. Its no good sweating blood if he misplaces passes half the game. He could sh*t nails for all I care but if he ain't up to the job, it ain't no good to us.

He'll have his place within the squad and no doubt will be a valuable asset but a starter he is not.

IF we get Hoilett (nothing CONFIRMED yet), I think Mackie will go to Blackburn. I will be sorry to see him go, but JH is the better player.

My 1st choice midfield would still be Mackie, Dikate, Derry and Taraabt which would mean Park, Hoilett, SWP, Faurlin, Dyer and Trarore would be on the bench.

We need a couple of players in our team that are QPR through and through that have never let us down. Mackie and Derry are two such players until they show they can no longer perform at the top level they deserve there place in our starting 11 in my opinion.

Derry over Faurlin and Park? I love Derry as much as the next bloke but we might as well stick Andy Impey on the wing if we're going to start putting loveable but, frankly, mediocre players in over genuinely quality footballers.

I hope not. The aim this season is to improve on last season isn't it? Sorry, just thinking with my head as I'm sure MH will too.

Diakite's temperament is still questionable (6 bookings in 9 appearances) and Faurlin's defensive work isn't exactly what we love him for. So I still feel Derry has a part to play in a 3 man midfield for us. This means that probably Hoillett and Taarabt (I assume Taarabt will play, because a) his character would tell us that he wouldn't of signed if Hughes said he was going to be rotation, and b) hes just been given the QPR number 10.) will play either side of the front man, which most likely in this system would be Zamora (target man).

Its good to have the options we have now, but Hoillett's signing could mean regular bench warming duties for the likes of Mackie and Cissé.

I think Diakite will be first name on the team sheet
He was picking up bookings too easy at first because refs are more happy dishing out yellow cards in our league
He will now that he cannot just dive in next season and get away with it

Have some people on here lost their minds. As much as i love Derry,he will be a squad player used as a sub or when Faurlin(our best passer and tackler) or Diakite(energy and forcefull runs forward)are injured or suspended.Park will probably be made captain thus insuring he is a certain starter, probably on the right side of midfield.Hoilett can be used on the left, enabling Adel to play the free role behind the front man,his best position and the one where he can do the most damage. That front man has to be Cisse, our deadliest finisher and quite frankly a league apart from any of our other strikers.Mackie is QPR through and through and will improve again this season,i would be gutted if we sold him it would be a mistake, but for me he will start on the bench and come on in games and hopefully do what he did against Liverpool and Blackburn. There are great times ahead and what a change to be debating which truly quality players will be starting for us this season!

I have to day I haven't a clue what's going on, who we're after still and how much we've spent and how much we've left to spend and what our wage bill is going to be and have we anything left over to get a defender or two but in Fernandes we trust; we have no choice!!

Why would Mackie even think of going to Blackburn? What a way to put the mockers on a still rising star.

Better bench with Rangers this year and see what happens, than circle the plug hole back down THERE with Blackburn. The Venkys / Keen show doesn't look like it's over does it?

Seen strange departures over the years but Mackie to Blackburn would take the biscuit.

Have to say that there are some rose tinted glasses stil being worn out there

    Try this midfield

For any match....Faulin, Diakite and Park. The rst can be moved around dependednt on the opposition.

As for Derry. Was great for us but will struggle to get into any team MH picks this year. Prob play against the likes of Swans or the "new boys"...God that feels so good to say about other teams !!

I agree totally. Last season the player that other supporters were talking about was Faurlin. Class act etc etc .

And agree with Hoillet also , he will give us other dimensions ( pace being a great one ).

Mate before his injury Faurlin was the top tackler in the prem, I think he finished pretty high by the end of the season as he was so far ahead in dec/jan, the boy has the lot!

Anybody that disagrees with this wasn't watching the first half of last season. If Faurlin comes back to the same quality as he left he'll be on the team sheet, but we know from Buz etc coming back from a big injury can really effect players.

As AJ can also play on the Right side looks to me MH is setting up for a change of formation. Still room for Mackie and Derry on the bench but time to see SWP go IMO.
