I say sensible but much of his early jibes were directed at Liverpool, Arsenal and even United, but then he turned on us.
I still can't work him out. I've never met a Spurs fan that hates United. They bumlick United because without them Arsenal and Chelsea would have won far more taking us way beyond them on the trophy haul. The only set of fans that hate United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. Chelsea and United moreso would be Leeds. He doesn't seem to have it in for West Ham so that leaves Millwall out. He could be a Palace fan, really don't know or care tbh
I think he's either deluded or a complete WUM mate Either way, if we use this thread well, we'll (hopefully) be able to look back at it and have a good laugh come next may
All the wumming by HIAG has made his brain lose parts of his memory like the time where we won the Champions League which made the Spuds miss out on Champions League football and also beat the Yids 5-1 in the FA Cup semi final. Even though he is banned HIAG is the type of guy who signs out and reads our board.
Blimey! You guys really are obsessed with me! For the record, chaps, I've not really got it for any team. You may be surprised to learn that when I was a nipper I used to go to all the 'Pool v Spurs games and also to both of the 'Pool v Everton games. I've actually stood in old Kop quite a few times, and I can tell you that it was a bloody scary experience for a 10 year old! I can remember so many of their team of the 70s - Clemence, Tossack, Highway, Smith, Hughes, Dalgleish, etc. The reason why? An uncle (by marriage) was actually a Scouse-supporting 'Pool fan, and he used to take me. I can't say I ever became a fan, because I've been supporting Spurs since I was 2 years old, having been raised in Haringey (though born in the East End). Most of my cousins are West Ham supporters, which is very unfortunately, but I've learned to cope with that fact over the years. Anyway, getting back to 'Pool. I used to completely respect the 'Pool of 70s and the 80s. I don't really dislike them now. What it is, is the delusion of their fans. I saw the great 'Pool of the 70s and 80s firsthand, and I saw them play quite possibly some of the best football in the world. They were truly awesome! But the side deteriorated under Benitez, and is, today, a pale shadow of that great glory side of the late 70s. Yet the fans carry on as those they are still a force to be reckoned with. I can honestly say that I don't despise them for it, I merely find their delusion utterly hilarious. As for AFC - come on, lads! What do you expect me say about them? They are our deadliest rivals, and we've been in their shadow for at least a decade. And yet here we are, so close to topping them; with RvP surely about to leave, they are like a wounded animal vainly fleeing from the hunter, yet knowing that it cannot be long before he is in range to deliver the fatal shot. They are so wounded, I can smell the blood. We should have finished them off last season, and had it not been for Redknapp believing in all of that "cry Harry for England" bollocks and keeping his eye on the job in had, I truly believe we would have topped the Gooners. I know I've been saying it every season for as long as I can remember, but I've got to believe that we can top them next season. United? Nah, I've never despised them or their fans. The United fans on this forum are clearly very loyal to their club, and not plastics, and any fan has got to respect that. As as for Chelsea? The truth is, that I probably got off on the wrong foot with a couple of your posters, and instead of laying off and letting the dust settle, I pushed some of my jibes that little bit too far. Nothing ill was meant by it, and I'll always be the first to put my hand up and admit if I've been wrong. Even when I'm in the right, I'll always shake hands after the blood has cooled. Mainly, it's the banter that I'm after. Where's the fun in life if you cannot smile every day? Funny things happen to rival clubs, and it's only fair to expect the digs to come in, but it's never usually too long to wait before you get the chance to have a dig back, with interest, of course! Like you guys finishing 6th, yet winning the CL and relegating us to Thursday night football. I don't mind admitting that that is just about as gutting as it gets, and I can fully understand why you lads would want to milk it for everything your can. I'd do the same, as would most of the Spurs fans on this forum. And don't forget that one of my very best friends, someone I talk to at least once a day, and meet up with two or three times a week, stay over at his house, go on joint family holidays - hell, I've even stayed at his Spanish villa! - he's a massive Chelsea fan. He used to have a box and is best mates with one of your board. Do you really think that I hate Chelsea? It would be like hating my best mate. Nah. It's only banter. That's all it ever was, and all it every will be. Thanks for letting me back on your board, lads. I do appreciate it.
Nice one HIAG. Happy to slag off Liverpool with you all day long. Although I am more sympathetic to them now Rodgers is in and KKK is out
Agreed, much easy to hate Liverpool and mock them with the clown in charge!! Brendan is a top bloke and I think they may be an outside chance for 4th place this year with 1 or 2 more signings.
I can't believe you've given up being a complete arsehole but fair play it does go with the territory.
This feels like the end of WWI, when the Brits and the Germans can start playing football together again! Regarding 'Pool under Brendan Rodgers, that is going to be a very interesting one. Okay, yes, I have been having a good old dig at the Mousers that they sacked a legend to employ a bloke who, two seasons before was plying his trade in the Championship, but I cannot deny that he worked wonders with Swansea and turned a very average set of players into a very good, solid team. There's no doubting that 'Pool has better players than Swansea, so there is a real chance that they could become quite a handful. Perhaps not this season, but certainly next. However, you know what the Mousers are like. If they win two games on the bounce, suddenly they are kings of Europe again! They are never more than a game away from a prat-fall. That's why I am so fascinated by them.
