To be fair, he'd have those 80,000 reasons a week if he played at newcastle because I doubt he'd leave if he was getting paid less.
According to the BBC, Newcastle were only prepared to pay half of his wages for the season long loan. Doesn't seem to form the best basis for a later purchase negotiation. Hence the almost immediate rejection.

Got to say, I thought the same thing when I read that comment but I think he probably means that Newcastle and Ba/Cisse (only heard about Ba having a clause..???) can't agree terms on a new deal which would eliminate said clause. Of course, this is all presumptions though... Edit: so it is a realisation by Newcastle that they may not be able to do much about keeping either player (if they have a clause)...
