    Because you've changed your homepage?

Try going to the google page and making it your homepage.

Have you downloaded a new program recently?

Sometimes you need to uncheck a box when you go through the downloading/installation process.

Most new programs try to make you install additional tool bars and stuff like that. Sometimes they ask you if you wanna make another site your homepage.

I wouldn't be surprised if you have an Ask toolbar now too. It's something to look out for when updating stuff, make sure you don't get a load of extra guff you were never after in the first place.

If not that, you must have done it by accident.

I'd think you can just go into your options and change the homepage.

I've got a feeling it's come from an Adobe update. Just because I've seen it recently as well and I know DivX updates try to do Google and Chrome as the additional installations, and I can't think what else on mine updates regularly.

A few months ago, I was recommended to use a security called Avast. I installed it, via download, and all went well.

One day, after a few weeks, I was informed of an update and 'did I want to install a toolbar?'. I declined the offer and then, when the update finished, I found my browser, together with a toolbar, was (like the Ask) one called 'alot'. *

Try as I might, I couldn't get shut of it, and had to get a mate - who works in computers - to uninstall it.
