Sorry chaps i need your help. Anybody have any idea why my mozilla home page keeps putting up a ask.com search page instead of my usual google page??? it's ****e and i want my google back. What have i cocked up now ?
Have you downloaded a new program recently? Sometimes you need to uncheck a box when you go through the downloading/installation process. Most new programs try to make you install additional tool bars and stuff like that. Sometimes they ask you if you wanna make another site your homepage. I wouldn't be surprised if you have an Ask toolbar now too. It's something to look out for when updating stuff, make sure you don't get a load of extra guff you were never after in the first place. If not that, you must have done it by accident. I'd think you can just go into your options and change the homepage.
Was trying to do that but we have not changed our homepage? so not quite sure what has happened there! will give that a go thanks for that mate.
just go into control panel / network and internet / internet options / change home page and type www.google.co.uk and click apply done
youve probly downloaded something and not clicked dont install ask. check your unisntall progs and delete run spycheck
Control panel, then uninstall programs, right click on ask toolbar for uninstall then uninstall that. Doveston is right you probably got a download of something which came with ask toolbar
I've got a feeling it's come from an Adobe update. Just because I've seen it recently as well and I know DivX updates try to do Google and Chrome as the additional installations, and I can't think what else on mine updates regularly.
A few months ago, I was recommended to use a security called Avast. I installed it, via download, and all went well. One day, after a few weeks, I was informed of an update and 'did I want to install a toolbar?'. I declined the offer and then, when the update finished, I found my browser, together with a toolbar, was (like the Ask) one called 'alot'. * Try as I might, I couldn't get shut of it, and had to get a mate - who works in computers - to uninstall it. * https://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&q=a....,cf.osb&fp=4c4dbdfba30104c5&biw=1280&bih=685
