MLS can't really compete with Russia or China in terms of money, but if you had to choose between living in the USA or China/Russia which would you pick? Anyways the problem with the MLS is we'll never be able to lure top from Europe at their peak. Eventually the youth systems/coaching will catch up with the rest of the world and we'll start developing our own talent that will stay in the States. Sadly for now, we'll just be a retirement league for European players and a stepping stone for North American players (including central America).
It'll always be difficult to catch up when it is seen as the fourth or fifth most popular sport. Football is number one in most European countries
China, all the natural wonder of America, none of the dumbfuck locals, or natural disasters waiting to happen.
