Super Sonic Boom 14/1 (EW) for the Willie Mullins yard might be worth a nibble, thoughts ?

    from the man himself

Super Sonic Boom (Gary Carroll) runs in the 2m 1f handicap. He has been very disappointing since winning as a 2yo in Listowel. He was then rated 81 but has dropped to 66 now. He should handle this ground and hopefully he will show some improvement over this longer trip

Bryan Smart said that he was unhappy that his horse had run, and subsequently pulled up, after being kicked in the stalls.
Apparently the starter said he wasn't happen with the horse but the vet said he was sound and should run. Responsibility is supposed to be with the starter.
He said the horse was in shock, he's normally a bolshi colt and he could see from the tv footage at the time that the horse looked out of sorts before they put him back in the stalls. At the racecourse stables after the race the colt was sound, but unhappy about walking around and very withdrawn into himself.

They need a better protocol when things like this happen. If a horse kicks out in the stalls and hits the frame it has to be withdrawn, they shuold have a similar rule for horses that are kicked by other animals. Equine welfare has to be paramount.

totally agree princess, but i would like book makers to help and lets stop this deduction rule 4 especially when its plain to see, im not sure if that applied in this case but horses and jockeys safety must be paramount, sureley the powers to be can decide if its a genuine withdrawl from a race because of an incient that all can see

Tricky Handicap coming up at Brighton, think there might be a nice priced winner to be had here and Im lumping on the Henry Candy trained MADAME FEU 12/1 (EW) who showed some promise two races ago when finishing 4th and beaten 3 1/2l in similar conditions, the straight course, extra furlong,a further 3lb drop in ratings and is the stables only runner here today might be enough to see her get involved.
