Says it all really. You'd rather have Welbeck and Hernande up front than RVP. That aside, this deal won't ever happen.
Can you read? Clearly he's saying the money would be better spent elsewhere, im also pretty sure we managed to score more goals than you last season. Shouldn't you be concerned that RVP is leaving Van Persie FC.
Where did I say that? I didn't even mention Hernandez in my post. Read my post again.. We have no issues scoring goals... £20- £25 million is alot of money for a 29 year old in a position that isn't priority. I'd rather we spend £20+ million on Fellaini or another 'solid' centre midfielder. Then if Van Persie was signed it would be a bonus. Try reading posts properly before you try to be a smart one. Oh well, we'll survive if that's the case. He can go to City if he wants.. I'd much rather that then Cavani does.
Yeah Tiote isn't my first choice to be honest.. I'd love Fellaini though. Not only strong and good in the air. But he's versatile.. Could play behind the striker (like he did against us) against weaker sides, and could man-mark in a defensive role against stronger sides. He's also one of the few Prem. centre-mids who can actually go shoulder to shoulder with Yaya (who always seems to make minced-meat of our midfield) I still think he'll make a good centre-back.. He just needs to adapt to playing for a team who play a high line and who dominate possesion most games. The role as centre-back for United is miles apart from the role of centre-back for Blackburn - where all you're required to do is hoof it away from the 6 yard box. He has raw talent, he (like the majority of young defenders) just needs more discipline, which should come with experience. Him and Smalling could work up a serious understanding over the next ten years. I think Smalling is the more reliable centre-back right now.. but hopefully as you say, Jones doesn't become just a utility man. Learning the roles around him (right-back, defensive mid etc) could help him understand the centre-back role more too.
Silly me, typical Arsenal fan stupidty i guess. We don't another goal scorer i.e the money is better elsewhere.
That wasn't my point though, simpleton. Welbeck is a dire player. And no matter how expensive RVP is. He is quadruple the player that Welbeck guy will ever be. Either way, I've read 4231's post. And deemed it acceptable. No need to play his sidekick, as you'll no doubt embarrass yourself.
If we keep loyal to Wellbeck until he's 29 and then he decides to leave after having 1 full good season i'll be upset. You deemed acceptable, thank god i was worried it wouldn't meet up to your high standards, i'll try not to embarass myself infront of the professor of debate. Easy to call a person simpleton or say silly things like "typical manc stupidity".
Always good for some amusement , this one would suck the farts out of his own arse if he was capable. Saying that i should probaly pm him to see if my post is acceptable before i post it
Don't worry Style, I deem your post acceptable, though I have to admit that I haven't checked for the acceptability of this post yet. I agree that Van Persie would be a quality addition, but he'd be a luxury buy for us at the moment. Although Van Persie would be our second best striker by a margin, we are not lacking in the goal scoring department and I would prefer we put that money towards buying a solid midfielder. Fellaini would be a good buy.
He's got to be a WUM .. I mean really?! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/157407-Gervinho-Impressed-Me-Last-Season
I know! Makes for a good laugh though .. Keep it up fella Edit - If he starts to make mass amounts of threads on their board then we should start to worry
we won the league already next season. the midfield has improved with the two signings and Rooney and Van Persie will piss 60 goals between them.
I totally agree, I've been thinking along these lines for quite some time... Yes, the fact that we have so many central defenders and no real defensive midfielders does weigh in on the argument as well, but I honestly think that Jones could develop into a top defensive midfielder who would have the ability to burst forward when the situation calls for it. Before the haters go wild, I'm not saying Jones is as good as Yaya Toure... But that is the TYPE of player that I think Phil Jones could become. A colossus in midfield who predominantly plays a defensive role, but has the ability to cause chaos when bursting forward with some lung-busting runs. Of course he would make a good central defender, but I don't think we'd be making the most of his abilities... And I think right back is too containing, in the centre of the pitch he has a lot more freedom to pick and choose the best time to get forward. Rest assured though, SAF knows more than all of us combined and hopefully it will all work out perfectly. I think that Fletcher's continued illness will definitely give Phil (good name, btw) a lot of opportunities at central/defensive midfield this season.
