When it comes to winding up the “yahoos” there is no better exponent than Neil Lennon. Compare and contrast the differing styles.

In Novo’s case he stoops just about as low as it’s humanly possible and makes snide references to the history of Celtic, sweeping statements about people in Glasgow wanting him dead and metaphorically flings **** about his cage like a petulant monkey, slandering not only the club but it’s whole fanbase.

Neil Lennon on the other hand, a few carefully chosen words about stripping illicitly won honours and all hell breaks loose. He’s the master. Here’s some of the predictable reactions from the mentally challenged contributors of a well-known Gers site.

Sorry Dev can't condone the actions of either party and genuinelly don't think such behaviour merits a point scoring exercise old chap

 

What has Lennon said that was incendiary Moses? Seriously.

He was asked a question and gave an answer without resorting to mud slinging. As far as i've read Novo was not responding to questions, he was making statements clearly intended to provoke a reaction. There's a huge difference.

So you are suggesting that Lennon's comments were made with the intention of winding up the Yahoos? Maybe you have misinterpreted what i said in the OP. Both individuals wind up opposing fans but in Lennon's case just opening his mouth is enough, Novo on t'other hand never fails to dredge ****e from the gutter with the sole intention to provoke.

 

No dev I am suggesting that provoking such a reaction either intentional or unintentional is not a cause for celebratory one upmanship.

 

Ones as bad as the other Dev. They both bring it on themselves.

Much as I DO love Glasgow there are many extremely pre-historic morons that will never move on and tossers like Novo and Lennon should keep schtum.

I would personally have people like this executed. Someone has to think of the kids.

 

All Novo done was give his opinion on a fact about Celtics history, and talk about the constant death threats/references to wanting him to die from Celtic fans.

Both sides have idiots, and both teams have figures who will pander to the lowest denominator in their fanbases. Luckily most of us here are smart to realise this. By continually going on about this you are simply giving these figures more reason to spout more pish in the future.

You do of course realise my OP was written with tongue firmly in cheek? I was not congratulating Neil Lennon for causing offence to the easily offended, I was showing that whatever he says someone will take offence. Novo on the other hand seems to have made a career out of causing offence on purpose.

One example off the top of my head, I don't ever recall Neil Lennon in all his years at Celtic talking about the (Allleged) religious persuasion of the two clubs, how many times has Novo slated Celtic for their Catholic background, too many to mention.

 

Isn't boasting about how you wouldn't use this as one upmanship actually one upmanship too?
