Here's a blow by blow summary (forgive the contradiction in terms but you'll see what I mean) from the Club - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/July/FollowOnTwitter.aspx Trotta's second sounds a real corker. PS While it's kind of good for the Club to do 'something' in real time, wouldn't have been so much better if the'd managed a Gentleman Jim broadcast ?
And here are Jol's (very honest) comments on the match - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/July/JolFriendlyReaction.aspx His final sentence is intiguing and whichever way you interpret it (new signings? different formation? youngsters? Dembele/Ruiz? ..... ??), it's encouraging. Even a bit exciting !
As one of the band or regulars who watch our youth, acadamy, and reserves at MP, it was nice to see one of our favorites Del boy Trotta getting on our score sheet in Germany, and as i have said many times in the past i feel there is a great future ahead of him, well done Marchello. Others who I feel will break through very shortly are : Dan Burn,a 20yr old 6ft 6in centre half, in a couple of years a ready replacement for BH ?. I understand both Newcastle and Sunderland have inquired about his availability. B T N Bangna 19 winger fast a can take on players released by Chelsea. Tom Donegan 20y old midfielder a Liverpudlian who I understand has already caught the eye of QPR and Southampton. Ryan Williams an 18yold speedy Aussie winger. And the 2 Scandinavians Muman Yankovic, and Alex KACANIKLIC,Alex already has played in the first team. Keep your eyes on the above, and if they fulfill their potential, the clubs future looks very rosy.
It all sounds great, roscafre. Let's hope we see some of these getting their chances in the firsts before too long.
Very true C58. Very True. And with luck this year we can convert some of the potential of our players into something really exciting. I would love us to get back in the Europa League again, but, more than anything, I'd like us to win a major domestic cup. After all we've given to the game over the years I think we deserve one.
Here's highlights on video of last night's game v Leipzig. Worth watching for the band at the beginning and Trotta's second goal - http://www.lok-leipzig.com/de/multimedia/lokruf_tv/2012-07-18-test-04-lok-fulham.html
'Academy' in Portugal The U16s drew 1-1 with Portuguese side Guimaraes this evening. Tankovic got the goal.
The U21s also had a game yesterday evening - they lost 2-0 to Santa Clara (Portuguese 2nd division side)
These pre-season friendlies out in Germany are obviously about getting the squad match fit and giving everbody a game. However, as Schwarz says in this article leading up to today's game (KO 4pm our time) , "we're not at our sharpest yet" - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/July/MarksMatchPreview.aspx Going on the blurb coming out of the training camp, there does seem to have been a lot of team bonding thoughand that is just as important as fitness at this stage. While not expecting too much today, I guess the main interest will be whether Demps gets played; not that giving him half an hour will be a firm indication either way.
Petric is doing well, he's just bagged another two against Kaiserslautern. EDIT: Starting lineup, by the way, was; Schwarzer; Riether, Hangeland, Hughes, Riise; Kacaniklic, Diarra, Etuhu, Ruiz: Petric, Trotta Subs: Stockdale, Brister, Baird, Halliche, Briggs, Sidwell, Davies, Frei, Dalla Valle No sign of Dembele or Dempsey... Although apparently Mesca has been subbed on and he wasn't listed on the bench.
The final score was Kaiserslautern 2 Fulham 2. Petric getting both of our goals - friendlies or not 3 in 2 is okay. Here's the blow by blow summary from the Club - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/July/FollowOnTwitter.aspx EDIT: Dempsey was not included because he has had only 5 light training sessions. Don't know the reason for Dembele's non-selection. Just for the record the line and timing of subs was - Schwarzer; Riether, Hughes, Hangeland, Riise (Briggs 69); Kacaniklic (Davies 69), Diarra (Sidwell 45), Etuhu (Baird 69), Ruiz (Frei 52); Trotta (Mesca 45), Petric.
Nothing from the Club but Turkish papers say a friendly has been arrange against Galatasaray (Away) on 4th August - http://live.sporx.com/futbol/superlig/galatasaray/ilk-prova-arenadaSXHBQ288163SXQ?utm_source=icerikPaylas We do need some testing fixtures before the new season and if this one is confirmed, maybe it will be when we see Jol's preferred Xl abd the format he wants to play in future. It will also be a chance to see Yilmaz who we 'nearly' signed.
'Academy' in Portugal The U21s beat FC Porto 2-1 yesterday. Derek Safo Tieku and Corey Gameiro got the goals.

A fairly bland summing of the trip to Germany by Jol, on the Official site, where he quite reasonably concentrates on youth - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/July/ManagersThoughts.aspx He certainly likes Mesca - we should see more of him soon, I think.
Met Police 1 Reserves 0 The Development Team (or Reserves) lost this evening. As usual nothing from the official site about the team. All I know is that Minkiwitz, Burn, Williams and Dalla Valle played. Trying to find out more, so in the meantime please feel free to post your jokes ... EDIT : Apparently it was officially the U21 team playing. Here are details from the Club site including the team - http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsArticles/2012/July/MetPolice1-0FFCU21s.aspx?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
