I think fiction: 1) Would Ashley let Krul go for 'as little as £10mn'? I don't think he would. 2) Krul happy at Newcastle 'but is thought to be willing to listen to any offers from bigger clubs'. A bit ambiguous really.

And note the inference that we are a small club ...

Spuds pulled out of signing French keeper. Trouble with them is they are supposedly going to sign everyone from here to Timbucktoo. They think they are a massive club but aren't.

 

I'm not really worried about anyone leaving other than Ba, and possibly Tiote. Every day that goes by the more confident I am of keeping everyone. Only takes a mad last day offer for one to go as we know.

Agree. The so-called 'reporters' seem to be taking the approach of link everybody with Spurs, Chrelsea, United & City and hopefully at least of those might come true. Not paying attention to any of the speculation for any players in or out until the clubs confirm bids / deals.

 

Take any notice of the papers and we'll have the largest squad in the Prem.

That suits the tabloids even better - just saying "United linked with <insert name of random footballer>" makes it even more likely they 'might' get it right.

 

Spurs are going to crash and burn this season - sacking a manager who has had them finishing in the top 5 for the last 3 or 4 seasons is plain madness - it reminds me of the disgraceful sacking of SBR by Freddy Shepherd ...

AVB has proved he cannot handle the Premier League by bombing massively at Chelsea - Krul is not interested in going to London to sit in mid-table and miss out on all he has dreamed of with Newcastle United.

Krul has stated before that he loves this place, the city, the ground and the fans... why would he risk it all for the gamble of Tottenham?

To all my friends and fans on not606, I'd like to say how happy I am to be at Newcastle and how much I love the City and the friendly people. I'd just like to put the minds of the football fans at rest and assure them that I have no intention of moving to London to play for Tottenham. I really think we can win something this year and I want to be part of it.

Not worried at all about this one. I think wor Timmy is quite happy. He goes out with a lass from Bedlington, has just built a massive new house to live together in, has finally secured the No.1 jersey here after serving his apprenticeship to Given/Harper, earns good money, is realising his international ambitions at our club, loves our club, loves the area, would cost an insane amount of money, and has stated many times he has no intention of going anywhere. The only thing that can change all that is if Mike accepts an offer. The likelihood is then he could leave. The question is would Mike rather sell him now at 10m, or command 30m in 3 years time when he is one of the best in the world?
