I would say for a player to make double figures for the last three seasons he has been pretty consistent
Andy King has scored more goals then Fryatt over their last 4 seasons in the championship and hes a midfielder
So you're going to ignore the season Matty scored 27 goals for you in League One, to try and prove how good a non-league striker is? That's like well ******ed init bro.
We are on about Fryatt as a championship striker. He is a top league 1 striker no one is debating that. Jermaine Beckford smashed in goals for fun at that level too
Yet beckford who you rate so highly only scored 9 goals in the league well worth his massive wages and fryatt got 16 !!!!!
I have no idea if Vardy is brilliant or not, he is as yet unproven, I wouldn't dream of suggesting he is or isn't up to it until he's had a chance to prove himself. Think on.
Can I ask what the point of this argument now is? Ian Wright proved that playing non-league football is no barrier to playing at he highest level if you have both the ability and self-belief ... but he is rather the exception admittedly ... but I am hopeful that Vardy will justify both our scouts endeavours and indeed the money paid for him ... .. but compaisons with Fryatt are completely spurious - until the two play this season ... even then, the relative form of our teams will effect the comparison to some extent ....i.e much easier to score in a team creating lots of chances and winning games .. .. nothing wrong with debating; indeed nothng wrong in making an optimistic and hopeful prediction .. but let's not get silly with the insults etc it just makes us look like squabling school boys (and girls) ...
We wont know if he is good enough to cut it but Nigel has tracked him for 4 years and there was countless other teams including prem teams who was after him. Nigel wouldnt have paid 1M+ if he didnt feel he could cut it
Proud, you keep saying 'countless' are you sure the problem isn't just that you can't count? He paid over a million for Mclean.
I'm aware of that, I actually think he'll probably do well, but then it's not me who's posting clueless nonsense about the risk of signing players who are currently unproven in the Championship.
How can it be clueless nonsense? He's never played at this level, so you don't know if he can cut it. Vardy is the same situation, but cost half as much. That's really all there is to it.
Difference is for us 1M for Vardy isnt that much of a risk. 1M really doesnt bother the owners here that much. If Vardy does fail we have Nugent, Beckford, Waghorn, Futacs and Schlupp here so we still have alot of firepower. While along with Fryatt you new striker will be the main man because after them 2 their really isnt alot of firepower at Hull as things stand. 2M is alot of money to you so represents a big risk. And before you come out with your owners have the money etc. It doesnt matter how much they have its about how much they are prepared to invest and its been proven they are even close to the level of investment our owners have put into the football club as a whole
