This The scumbag has admitted his wrongdoing. And he got punished by the words he said. To compare him to the Birmingham 6 is frankly moronic in the extreme...
I think they did under pressure...not sure! I imagine you are trying to say that Suarez admitted to being racially abusive, so there is a difference! However, he never admitted that, he admitted using the word negro, which he thought was inoffensive (whether or not you agree with this irrelevant)! The fact is, not everyone who is 'guilty' is actually 'guilty'! And to just simply say, leave it alone and stop going on about it is wrong imo!
He did not admit wrongdoing! Do you even know the details of the case? And the comparison is apt! The actual crime(s) are irrelevant, it is the 'guilty' verdict(s) possibly not being correct that is my point!
I presume whenever racism in football rears its head in the future no doubt Suarez will be discussed again. Trying to clear his name now seems either moronic or selfish without any regards fr club or fellow players or fans. As I said in another thread you are as absolute convinced of his innocence as we are of his guilt. So I cannot see any meeting ground at all here so we'll agree to disagree. I'll think the worst of him and you'll think the best of him.
They didn't, and whether or not he was being racist will more often than not become a matter of opinion as this was not a criminal charge, but that doesn't change the fact that he broke the rules according to the governing body by referencing skin color in a heated exchange, the word he used can be used in South America as both a term of endearment and an insult which is where his "cultural difference's" argument lost ground, it became more about the context, and do you honestly believe he was being "nice" during that heated argument?
I don't want to go into the details of the case to be honest, my point is that there is the possibility that Suarez was innocent! If you can categorically prove to me that he was racially abusive and knowingly so, then fair enough...I will admit my error in thinking differently and accept that he was guilty! Until then, there will always be doubt in my mind, just like there was doubt in the panel's (which forced them to use the word 'probably') and just like there is probably doubt in your own mind,,,but you will never admit that and instead cling on to the idea that he definitely did it, 100%, no doubt whatsoever, bang to rights, guilty as sin....'probably'!
You can assume whatever you like about me or my opinions if it makes you feel better about yourself, but there is more grounds to presume he was guilty of the charge than innocent given that he admitted using a word that can be used in both a nice or insulting way in a heated argument, and as this was NOT a criminal charge in a court of law, they did not have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that he was guilty. Anyway, this is still the Terry thread so as you have already decided we are all going to "cling" to the idea that Suarez is guilty just like you are clinging to the idea he is not, there really is no point in discussing it here anymore.
That doesn't make any sense considering what I said! I was just giving my opinion, I was not trying to make myself feel any better about myself...that was quite an odd thing for you to say! And yeah, probably no point in discussing it anymore, especially when you have conceded that there is doubt in the verdict with your 'there is more grounds to presume guilt than innocence' line! So, on that note...I will say goodbye!
I will never be able to understand why some want to fight lost causes. I don't mean that scumbag who got banned for 8 weeks. I mean those scousers fans who come here to try and convert us to the Suarez is innocent cause. United fans are totally convinced of his guilt. The words "probably" "doubt" won't work.
No point in saying goodbye because we all know you will be back sooner rather than later, you will camp the United forum here just as you did on JA.
He is like obsessed. Suarez is a scumbag and most people know he is. He is and will be wasting his time
Splitting hairs like a Scouser. ( not well ) In law, a racist incident is one that ANY person deems it so to be. That really is ANY person. We're talking about day to day, common old garden racism here mate, not mass genocide, and it's still racism. Blimey, even a Liverpool supporter might consider genocide a little bit naughty
