From twitter and a sky sports employee “@SkySportsPeteO: Sky Sports understands former QPR midfielder Akos Buszaky in talks with Nottingham Forest and Bristol City. #NFFC #BCFC #QPRFC”
Yes why would a player go to Forest until he knows who the Manager is - unless they offer him a fortune? Oh and this is on "BS Central" 16 Jul 2012 22:24:13 Akos Buszaky could join Bristol City as early a Thursday after agreeing terms. Would be an excellent signing. It appears that talks with Forest broke down earlier today.
EP says move for Keogh looks dead in the water - SImeon Jackson a non-starter They are talking up Gordon, Baldock and Gerrard
17 Jul 2012 07:39:29 Bristol City are interested in West Ham,s Sam Baldock but Wages and Transfer fee are likely to scupper the deal, Wages will also prevent City signing Craig Gordon on a free, there is now a strict wage cap at Ashton Gate and City are struggling to compete with many championship clubs . Richard Keogh will sign for Cardiff (he wanted to move to Bristol City ) but Bristol club could not match Cardiff in the bidding war. A hard season ahead for City as they will have to look at youngsters/loaness and lower leagues for new players Copied this one up as it appears we have severe wage control in place,in other words we can't compete.. I hope this assumption is proved totally wrong.(The we can't compete bit)
Think we have a long hard season ahead of us,we are not competing with other clubs, even Keogh wanted to come back, however he has to go to Cardiff for the money. Really can see us struggling without signings arriving this season. Am i looking forward to it not at present.
Fully fully understand the wage capping scenario, but it may well come back to bite us in the ass. Money is tight and Sir Steven Lansdown has as much as said the club needs to be run financialy and not bailed out financialy by his good self. A test of the managers skill now then.....
quite happy to see the club being run in a prudent and sensible manner, better hard times now, than go the way of rangers, pompey, etc a few years down the line.
As much as I would like us go out and spend money like its going out of fashion. We have to be sensible clubs in the past have gone out and spent what they don't have and in a much worse position than we are now. Yes Portsmouth tasted prem for a bit, but they will struggle now to get out of Div one. Yes Rangers enjoyed it to easy in the Scots prem, but let's be honest players won't want to play in the bottom rung of Scottish football so will they climb back up as easy as they think. SL wants the club to finance itself after a succession of silly transfers, so I agree if we have to buy from the lower leagues and take in loanees then so be it. As long as BCFC is still going I'm happy.
18 Jul 2012 10:05:39 Darren O'Dea and Tom Heaton on trial with Bristol City in Spain. Talks ongoing with Buszaky. Keogh - All agreed including personal terms then Cov wanted extra clauses added. Deal looks dead. Bristol City enquired as to Simeon Jackson but fee was too high. City looking at getting Bennick Afobe or Harry Kane on loan. Craig Gordon is an option, but he has lots of avenues open to him so may take a couple of weeks to know one way or another.
Darren O'dea is a defender released from Celtic so has no club at the moment, so might be a bit of truth in that one.
18 Jul 2012 16:47:09 Southampton have made a bid of £1.5m for Bristol city centre back Liam Fontaine he will fly back from Spain to discuss terms with the Saints
Would'nt be suprised if that is just cheap jurno's re-cycling last seasons offer there Wize.......do they realy think Fonts is what they need to keep the likes of Rooney, Balatelli and the rest out?
McInnes made a big thing of Fontaine being captain - surely they would not have done that if he was likely to go??
