1.5 ml offer for Snoddy. Pathetic. Obviously they have no money or are convinced they'll be relegated this season

Landed them Howson! They will be back with a better offer. 1.5 mil? I would rather keep him for the season then let him walk.

quite clearly you have little or no idea how to construct a transfer bid then. when have you ever heard of a club going straight in with a massive offer for a player? his contract runs out in 12 months so £1.5m, plus add-ons is, although quite low, not that ridiculous. i should imagine its just to test the water and i would fully expect that a further bid will be made in the coming days, possibly getting towards the £3m mark, which i wouldn't be at all surprised to see land the guy.

He's gonna stay at Leeds and we will be swapping divisions at the end of next year.

its not impossible that may happen, but its 12 months away if it does. there are no guarantees as to which division our clubs will be in 12 months from now, but will he want to stay in the hope of premier league football with leeds, or guarantee himself at least a year minimum of premier league football with norwich? it does sound like its a matter of time before a bid is accepted, judging by warnock's comments

Difference is if he stays with Leeds, when we go up, it will be long term. Norwich will only ever be a forlorn hope of a second season in Premiership

I genuinely think he will stay at Leeds. We have brought in good players and are been linked with good players. IF Bates disapears then it'll only help Snoddy wanting to stay if the new owners give Warnock cash to help us achieve promotion

with all due respect, unless you can see into the future, you have no way of knowing that. leeds might be in the championship for the next ten years. we've spent plenty of time in the top flight before so its hardly unrealistic to believe it can't happen again. it certainly didn't stop howson coming here...

It's this over confidence that makes it so much fun for others to mock you when it falls apart. Good luck with the season though. I wonder if we'll even have cause to interact on 606 once we've got snodders. Doubtful.

Way I see it, with the forthcoming takeover, I'm not fussed whether Snoddy comes or goes. Coupled with the finances and with us being a proper big club, we'll likely be attracting a lot better in the not too distant future. You're always welcome to visit here. Lots of fans seem to due to lack of activity on their own boards

not really sure what this means. how does this relate to snodgrass? most clubs fans are loyal. we got the same number of fans in league one as we do in the premier league - that shows loyalty. regardless of your rather misplaced arrogance, nobody would dispute that leeds are a big club. what most would dispute is that having money is a guarantee for success. leeds are still some way behind norwich in terms of ability to attract players - it may not always be that way but it is at the moment. i very much doubt, for instance, that howson regrets his move to norwich. he is being linked to an england call up and his value is probably five times what we paid for him. if we should be relegated, which is hardly a forgone conclusion seeing as we finished very comfortably mid table last year, we would be able to name a price for him, so who loses here? it certainly isn't my club! same would apply to snodgrass. we are getting a reputation for taking players from outside the top division and giving them a chance to shine. i'm pretty sure he'll be attracted by that prospect rather than another 46 games in the championship.

err, there are more posts on the norwich board than the leeds one. also, i think if we are bidding for one of your players, its expected to see one or two city fans on here, don't you? we certainly get plenty of leeds fans on our board, checking to see how ex-players are getting on, all of whom are welcome <ok>

How much of that reputation did you put down to Lambert? What chance do you think you have with hughton?

lambert was good, lets not mess about here. he was very good! he's left behind a very, very good side though and hughton is similar in the sort of players he likes so for continuity its a good appointment. we've got a really young, vibrant british team who are fun to watch every week and who show no fear against any opponent. lambert obviously was credited with buying these players but our chief scout ewan chester found them. he's still working his magic so hopefully it'll continue. realistically its a tougher division on paper next year so improving on 12th might be asking quite a lot, but i see no reason why we can't finish comfortably again, anywhere between 10th and 15th.

Don't think we're going broke as all our external debts will be gone in a year which, with the guarantee of anothers season's Sky cash plus a minimum of the parachute payments IF we were to join Leeds in the Championship leaves us somewhat wealthier than a lot of other clubs.

I seem to recall last season when we chased Howson our club being ridiculed as small town and going down and that our offer for Howson was derisory etc etc and then when he signed we had suddenly paid over the odds for an injured player who may not be good enough for the Premier League. History has shown JH enjoying himself at Norwich and making excellent progress. If we chose to sell him now I suspect he would command a very sizeable fee.

As things stand Snodgrass can either sign a new contract at Leeds which will potentially keep him in the Championship during his prime and make him a more expensive target for PL clubs or knock it back and either be sold to a PL club immediately thereby getting a pay increase with PL football next season or stay at Leeds for a season and then walk where we wants as a free agent the following year if Leeds don't go up. Leeds can either cash in on Snodgraas whilst he has value or gamble on him inspiring them to promotion when all bets are on again. Both Leeds and Snodgrass have interesting choices to make.

I would like Snodgrass to join Norwich but I can see him going to a bigger club than us or staying with you for another season. I can't see why he would sign a new contract as there does not seem to be much of an upside for him either career wise or finacially but stranger things have happened. For the record I'd also like to see Leeds come up as they are a good club with good fans from a cracking city although we would need to find some other place to get our midfield from!

Am i old fashioned for believing if a player doesn't want to play for a club anymore, sell him? No player is bigger than a club.

Would like him to want to stay at the club, but he is not irreplaceable.

Also the Norwich fan is right, they can't loose signing players like Howson, Snodgrass etc. I think they are strong enough to stay in the premiership, and i think they know that, got a good bunch of young ambitious players. And I think its fair to say any of there starting eleven would get in the current Leeds squad other than Snodgrass posistion, and possibly Bechio.

I totally agree with you, apart from Becchio. Holt is a better player.
