Watching him this season is going to be horrible...everytime he goes into a crunching tackle I'm gonna tense up, look away, close my eyes and scream SWEET JESUS!
I think he must have got that metal stuff that Wolverine got shoved on his bones: He says he's going to he better & more aggressive in the tackle this year than he ever was!
It is a worry after such a nasty injury. Many players I can remember were never the same after. However, the technology is so much better now.
Adamantium-filled bones for Lucas san! The LFC Weapon X! I like it. Has the feel of six million dollar man, too. We can rebuild him; we have the adamantium. He'll be stronger, smarter, more aggressive in the challenge. Probably not faster though - the metal will slow him down a tad*. *And, as GCoS says, players after ACL surgery are usually a yard or so slower. Hope he doesn't get injured again this season and has a fairly long spell in the team as he's one of my favourite players. Not saying he will be better, neither of shearer or Keane were immediately better, they (as will LucaS) needed time to build their fitness and adjust their game

Looking forward to seeing Lucas back. It makes you really appreciate what a good player we have on our books and I just hope he can get back into top form sooner than later.
Yeah, Lucas developing as a top player softened the blow somewhat of Masch and Alonso leaving. Still miss The Cowboy*, though. *Always thought Alonso looked like The Cowboy from the film Inner Space with Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid and Martin Short.
surely if you rip a tendon or ligament adamantium bones are not worth a toss? surely its wolverines super healing powers that you want to put into our team.
Damn you and your logic, sir. Logic has no place in a world of magic. Next you'll be saying how come the Hulk rips all his clothes off but never exposes his green wang? Or why does Mickey Mouse have shoes and shorts but has no top on and Donald Duck wears a jacket and a hat but has nothing on from the waist down? Do they share an outfit between them? No, it's a fair point. Regenerative mutant powers would be much better for an ACL injury - or any injury for that matter. Good to have Lucas back anyway, regardless of what super powers secret government research facilities have bequeathed him.
Donald Duck never wears shorts however when he gets out of the shower he already wraps a towel round his bottom half! Explain that one....
