Well there was 3 of them that were popping up in my apple tree and I just ignored them. Then I realised they were picking on the little-uns. I was wondering where my friendly little Wren had gone! Then I saw them mobbing a Blackbird. Went out to check and found dead Robins and Blue tits there soft innards ripped out. So off I went to get my sons rifle, after half an hour of trying to figure out how the bloody thing worked I had it set up. (It uses gas canisters and has a laser sight FFS ) I knew the sight was perfectly aligned for the bottom of the garden so I just sat and waited. 5 Minutes later back they hop took one of the bastards out with a clean head shot first time. Waited and the others didn't return. The others haven't been back today and the little-uns are returning. The rifle is in the kitchen ready for the other two.
First thing I warned the lad about was if he shot any birds, the rifle was history. I did do a check first and Magpies are classed as VERMIN so are fair game.
I agree that Magpies are classed as vermin as well as being nototious for their thieving, dirty habits. However, I quite like those small black and white crows which share the same name...
Did a bit of reading online mate, and by all accounts they decimate the other birds, especially during the breeding season as they even rip the nests apart whilst taking the eggs.
Just been out the front seeing the boy off on his driving lesson. There' four of the ****ers sitting on a house roof opposite all staring at me! Only 2 hunting pellets left I shall be picking my targets carefully, I think the ringleader is the one keeps showing me his arse.
Spent a lot of time with a HW80 and a HW77 German air rifles, the legal limit is 12 flbs but Terry rob engineering do a leaflet on how to tune to 24 fbs same as a black powder 22, but you need a silencer fitted easy to make though
Sounds like the son in laws rifle. He has his own shoot up Northumberland, takes the boy with him. They also do vermin shoots for farmers.
Perfect vermin tool, especially with a tasco 4x40 wide angle lens, accurate to 150 yds, but not a lot of power past that so safer in confined spots, was once asked to help clean the bus station out in the early hours, great. was also asked to a seal hunt by a policeman friend but declined, they just look like a dog didn't have the heart for it, now if they had wanted a mag doing I'm your man.
