The team has changed a bit: Oxley McShane, Bradley, Cooper, Townsend East, Olofinjana, Koren, Stewart McLean, Fryatt Plus Chester has come on for Olofinjana but I don't know where he's playing or if we've changed tactics.
Simpson was looking sharp before he came off. 4 goals from 2 pre Season fixtures isn't bad, but then again, it is North Ferriby and Winterton Rangers. Simpson should be given a chance to impress in the League again, and if it's same old, we have the January window.
winterton are not a very strong non league side but its job done without getting over excited, i will judge players in league games. Regarding Simpson its nice to see him scoring but ive got to say he has to do a lot more than what he has produced in a city shirt so far, lets hope it gives his confidence a big boost
I take it the game finished 5-0, would interested to see if they all came thru it unscathed. As for Simpson, he is the same as any striker in the world, he feeds off confidence, with him only being a young lad he seems to lose confidence quickly, but at present having put four away in his last two outings he`ll be cock a hoop. Be interesting to see what he does against better defences (no offence to Ferriby and Winterton), I think this will be when SB makes his decisions.
He won't get the chance, he'll be dropped like last time and Proschwitz will replace him. Injury wise Evans picked up a strain on Monday, not heard anything about tonight yet.

I was just going with the deja vu factor of him scoring 4 goals in 2 games just as we spend over £2M signing competition for his place.
I know it's only Ferriby and Winterton, but Simpson's still performed far better than any other striker so far. I really hope after telling every single one of you every single day for two years, that this season is the year where I can scream I TOLD YOU SO every week.
Having spent or just about to spend over £2m on Proschwitz, clearly his name wil be pencilled in for every game in a 4-4-2 formation. Matty Fryatt will more than likely be his strike partner (unless he moves on) but a rejuvenated Simpson will certainly add to the competition for that position.
I really really want simpson to do well. I don't care what people think I think he has great potential. He has it in him for sure. He needs to be happy though and give it his best and focus. I don't disagree that he had been off his form but I think he deserves more chances. I think he could be better than Mclean. I don't ctually want him to leave like this, I think he can come good.
I saw him a few times when he was at QPR so I know he can be a 15 goal a season striker at this level.
He's looked really good in these two games. He's very sharp, his finishing is way better than Fryatt or McLean's and his touch is good. The places he scored from tonight are the same chances where the other two would **** up. I really hope Bruce gives him a chance this season, it seems ridiculous to me that we don't give him a chance when our other strikers are so wasteful. The same argument goes for Cairney.
