Earlier in the season someone wrote some utter cobblers about real madrid not being a great team because they hadnt managed to be in the quarters or the semi's for a few seasons, this is something I strongly disagreed with, look at the players they have, they are a brilliant team. Fair enough they are no barca, but who is? However now they are in the semi's and in doing so embarassed one of our own countries teams, is it safe to say now they are infact a great team?

As countless anti-Spurs wums have said, teams are rubbish until they beat Spurs. Then they are great

We are, always have been, our football at times this year however has been awful, we are more functionable with a will to win. And chelsea have gone to the dogs this year, was unforseen by many. Then again, they are quite old.

No I predicted that Chelsea would decline. I will look for the article back in June 2010. It was obvious to all that Chelsea were going down hill. Just a matter of time but we must not understate this Utd side. I am very confident if Wayne did not lose his marbels and Valencia did not get such a bad break and our team did not all fall ill we would be 10-15 points clear by now. I am not including our stupid errors i.e dropping leads. because all teams have made errors this season.

You chat absoulute **** and change your mind every five minitues so what you say really doesnt count.

Your talking rubbish yet again, 15 points clear? Rubbish. The league has declined and is not what it was years ago, but we are also not what we were.

Also had arsenal lost players then maybe they would have more points, you can say that about any team.

We have been in the Semis 4 times in the last 5 years. I am not sure what this is regarded as by you. Our team is very good and has proven this and our squad is very good. There is nothing wrong in being behind high spenders Real and one of the greatest ever sides in modern football in Barca.

Do we need a revamp in our squad? no. Do we need to buy any world class players in the summer? yes (a goal keeper). Signing 2 or 3 future potentials is what we should do as well. Our squad is good enough and does not need major changes all to be honest.

To me, this season Real have seemed a lot like Liverpool were in 09, albeit on a much higher level. When all their good players click, they are like 'pool were when Torres, Gerrard and Alonso were all performing. But without Ronaldo they seem a bit lost at times. They've given out some hammerings, like 'pool did to us and Real in 09, but then they've dropped points with some insipid performances in the league, and have never really looked like winning it.

That's not to say they aren't a good side, but I think they still have some work to do before they can be considered of the highest quality. Will be interesting to see who Mourinho brings in over the summer, if he's still around after missing out on La Liga and (probably) the CL...

So they have reached the semi finals for the first time in 7 years after beating the 5th best team in England, a team who have never been in the Champions League before, wow!

You do realise that big names don't necessarily mean a great team? It's not Football Manager for ****s sake.

While RM are a good attacking side, there defense at time has been lacking, that could be there down fall when they play UTD in the final*

*I feel a little optimistic today

Uh, but they evidently are a great team, just because they play in the same league as barca and now will most probably go out to them doesnt make them not great, it just makes them second best.

These big names you talk of obviously have improved them, as has mourinho.

I think it was Berbinandez who was trying to argue that Madrid are not a great team. What people overlook in Spain is that its not just the big 2 who are good, the only reason they look bad is because Barcelona and Madrid are ahead of everyone else in world football.
