Nothing wrong with blogs it's advertising them we don't do, especially if they don't contribute. A good thing to do if you're creating a thread for a story is to C+P the content on to the thread, as well as the link Glad we missed out on Lloris, £16mill's too much and I don't think he's big enough for the PL either.
Looks like rafa's staying http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7908987/VDV-pledges-future-to-Spurs?
Bale - Ade/Falcao/Defoe/Someone else - Hulk -----------Rafa-------Gilfi---------------------- ---------------Sandro/Scotty----------------- Benny-----Vert-----Kaboom-----walker ----------------Cesar---------------------- Obviously this is a dream scenario.....but what a team that would be! Would need more strength in depth up front and in the lb/rb positions to be challengers though imo.
Dominating the BBC's gossip column today, though of course a lot of it sounds like nonsense. New Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is hoping to beat Chelsea to the signing of Brazilian striker Hulk from Porto. Full story: Daily Mail Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart insists he wants to stay at the north London club and is excited by the prospect of working under new boss Andre Villas-Boas. Full story: the Sun France striker Bafetimbi Gomis, 26, will reject a move to Tottenham in order to stay with Lyon. Full story: talkSPORT Lokomotiv Moscow are looking to thwart Tottenham's bid to sign striker Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City after making an £8m move for the striker. Full story: Daily Telegraph Tottenham midfielder Danny Rose, 22, is resigned to Luka Modric's departure from White Hart Lane and admits he does not know where his own future lies after the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas. Full story: London Evening Standard
It's funny how we and Arsenal are represented in the media. They are constantly described as falling apart, or under threat of losing their top 4 position and we are linked with everyone and anyone!
The story of VdV staying is up on SSN now though so perhaps it's a bit more credible. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11675/7908987/ I do love how we are linked with anyone and everyone in the transfer windows. It's almost as if journos look at any player, no matter who they're linked with, and think we would like them too. Every time.
total and utter rumour, but i was impressed by this guy at the euro's http://www.thenews.pl/1/5/Artykul/106269,Spurs-interested-in-Poland-skipper? did anyone else think much of him?
He was one of dortmunds leading players last season but i doubt anyone else will be leaving dortmund, they have just won the double in germany, have a top coach, in the champions league and signed reus for 19 million to replace kawaga.
Blaszczykowski was very impressive in the Euros but as The Boss just said I don't think Dortmund would want to sell considering that they've already had to replace Kawaga this transfer window. When you consider Dortmund's strong position now as well I'm not sure he'd want to leave. A similar sort of player maybe would be Darijo Srna of Croatia and Shakhtar Donetsk, who I've always admired. He is 30 now though but he would be great cover for Lennon and Walker down the right. I think he may be a bit old for AVB's new direction though, but I'd certainly be very happy to see him come in at the right price, taking his age into consideration of course.
yeah, i didn't think we'd stand much chance, but still looks like a quality player. Isn't Dario Srna more of a right back Huddlefro?
He can play both as a RB or as a midfielder/winger as far as I'm aware, he certainly has done both for Croatia. I only thought of him because we're short on cover for both Walker and Lennon, and he can kill both of those problems. Bear in mind I have no idea about his situation at Shakhtar, given that I think he's captain there I don't think he'd be that open to a move, especially as he'd have no guarantee of regular play here and he'll want to maintain his captaincy of his country, something that's not going to happen without regular games at club level. Plus I very much doubt that he's even on AVB's radar, given that he's 30 now.
He's a wing back, so can play full back or on the wing. Keeping hold of Corluka might have been a bright idea we were trying to sign him, all things considered... Besides, if we were going to sign a Croatian right back, every FM addict knows the list starts and ends with Sime Vrsaljko. That's it, rush back to your computers and see what I'm talking about...
Oh well there's tomorrow's gossip column sorted Forgot to add this http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7912119/Dawson-hungry-for-return Good work Daws!
Ironic that Daws may make his return against Stevenage. It was a really cheap shot by their CF that caused him to land awkwardly and do the serious damage to himself. Others might be keen to seek some revenge, but wouldn't include Daws in that category. Hope he comes through ok, cos he still has a significant role to play next season.
